Harvey, yes I believe with 80c thermostat and you are reading 87-89c on the gauge, the system is working properly. I've only been into these Porsches for 5 years now so I don't consider myself a pro with these car's. I got early and late thermostats from pelican parts, two autohausAZ, and the Stant from Rockauto. I didn't trust pelican for sending me the right part. I've gotten the wrong thermostat and fan switches from them before.
