I am relocating from the US to Dublin and I could use some advice about Porsches in Ireland. Might you offer some, or put me in touch with others who might do?

In particular, I am considering whether to bring my US-spec, LHD Cayman GT4. I expect that there is not much to do to the car to make it roadworthy in Ireland, and I understand that no VAT would be payable upon import because I have owned the car since November 2016, but could it be that the CO2 emission of the GT4 of 238 g/km would attract an annual road tax of €2,350?

Some have advised me to sell my US-spec cars and buy in Ireland. There are some cars that are sold in Ireland that are not sold in the US, and perhaps the GT4 is not really suitable to the Irish roads? Please give me your advice.

    With best regards,

    Chris
