    Hi Doug,

I have recently caused damage to my DME by shorting an injector lead. Do you think that
I have damaged the injector by doing so? I have found a bad Transistor, and it appears that
unless the IC is junk, I may be able to repair the DME. I did have the car "on" quite a while attempting to
start it before realizing my error, and was unsure if that would hurt an injector.

    Best,
    Giltgy

    Hey there, Doug!

I have some questions about Megasquirting an '83 ROW 944 and was wondering if you could give me a shout sometime!

    Thanks,

    Chris

I'm not sure if you visit the forum these days, but I'd appreciate if you could chip in and help me solve my ECU mystery! )

Hi Doug, I actually have 3 gouged/scratched blocks already. I talked to several weeks ago about '88 N/A pistons a few weeks back for the same car, which I believe I will be able to save and re-use by sending them to Calico Coatings, and having them re-coat piston skirts with CT-3 dry film lubricant.
So are you saying that I am better off having my original block re-done? US Chrome in Wisconsin will put in new Alusil liners for about $945 not including shipping. Re-coating pistons about $250. 2] option would be to put steel liners, and wossner or chevy piston /ring set. Then Gaskets and bearings, rings, seals ect will probably have about $1700-1800 in short block by time I'm finished. 3] Found a low miles '87 with 77k was pristine before it was rolled, engine still in car, could hear it run before they take it out for $840.
So I know third option the cheapest, but it would have a little less HP, but also only want to do it once! which way would you go with this?

    Hello Doug,

I have been reading through your megasquirt project posts and just want to say they have been extremely helpful. I myself am going a different way than both you and michael by using a DIY MS3 kit that I am wiring into an extra DME I have, similar to your install. I plan to fit the entire MS3 module into the DME and wire the DB37 directly to the desoldered DME conn. I am about to put it in the case and starting to wire everything, but I have some questions. Any chance you might be willing to chat about my project sometime and offer a bit of insight. I kinda jumped right into the deep end and while i have a very firm grasp on what I am doing I still have some questions as to how you wired your microsquirt module directly into the existing wiring harness. If you have some time to chat, let me know, I would really enjoy picking your brain regarding my project. Thanks again.

Hello Doug, my name is Neal and I just acquired a 1984 944 auto and was looking through the internets for ideas for it( fix it, motor swap, part it out). I have been reading your posts here on RL and realized you were in Austin( so am I ) Was curious if I might check out what you have been doing to your Stuttgart Stallions. PM me or email me at neal.pedigo@gmail.com and let me know if you would be willing to come check out my 944 and give me your opinion. Thanks, Neal
