Description:
Selling my 2005 996 GT3 Cup Car w/ factory ABS and approx 35hrs on engine/trans. Purchased earlier this year, but have to sell as baby #2 is on the way later this year, and won't have nearly as much track time that I'd like for quite a while.
Original owner was Paul Camusi (Sierra Nevada Brewery founder) before passing hands to fellow rennlister 'mooty', and afterwards was delivered to a gentleman in Florida around 2008 where it has lived ever since and supported primarily by Zotz Racing and even raced by Ron Zitza himself! It was re-tubbed by PMNA, painted Mexico Blue (inside, outside and underbody), and the engine and trans both had about 20hrs on a rebuild by JB Racing in Orlando. The car was then sold at the 20hr mark in 2014 to Don Gray, but he only put about 10hrs on the engine from 2014 through 2022 per Zotz racing and Vortex Motorsports, who also supported the car. It sat for almost 10yrs prior to my purchase earlier this year. Surprisingly, it only needed tightening of a ground strap at the ECU to make it track-worthy. After all that time it fired right up after adding new gas, new fuel filter and changing all the fluids!
I've added about 1.5-2hrs on track since acquiring the car. It is currently receiving a new exhaust system (long tube headers and a single exit exhaust pipe from a 997 GT3 cup car) as well as some paintless dent repair to the passenger rear fender after an unexpected interaction with a tire wall at Sebring. Luckily, the damage was only cosmetic and the car was able to drive the rest of day without issue. I always hesitate to say that something is "race ready", but if I were to take it to the track next weekend it wouldn't need anything.
I have all the paperwork documenting work performed on the car by Zotz from the previous owner from 2014-2016. Under my ownership in 2022 it has received a new fuel pump, fuel filter, oil change, transmission fluid change, and brake fluid flush. The car is seriously quick, and capable of a 2:14 at Sebring.

I know many have reached out to obtain a PPI. Bob at Vortex will be able to help facilitate that. I should also have an in-car driving video and start up video later this weekend--if you are interested please reach out and I'll forward it to you. Also, happy to arrange passenger rides around Vortex for those interested
