If the chrome ring's tabs are melted on, and removing it destroys its ability to be reused, does it leave behind any loose bits inside the airbag assembly? Or it's a rubber material, so it's a bit malleable for removal and doesn't snap, leaving behind material?

If I'm overthinking it, let me know.

I'm totally in for a matte black (not satin) ring if it's a non-issue. Otherwise I can paint it myself.

If done slowly it will come out in one or two pieces, including the melted tabs - here is a pic of one that I did:

Ok, count me in. I can paint it myself because I want matte black, not satin.

Bob, is there a difference? I too like Mike would like my 2 rings as Matte Black.

As requested, here is a pic of the back of the airbag cover, and all of the included parts put in place:

Well, I think we may be close enough for me to take a chance on ordering these; however, I want to confirm there is enough interest since 2 people that said they wanted one have since told me they changed their minds. As I said, I have to buy 30 but I am willing to order them if I get commitments for at least 10 since I assume I can sell the rest over time.

As a reminder, they are $100 each shipped. Based on demand, I will paint the ring Satin Black only or leave it as-is so one can paint it themself. I am NOT a professional painter but I will lightly sand and prep each one and spray each ring with at least 3-4 light coats of paint (Krylon Colormaxx paint & primer. Someone asked for Matte/Flat paint, which may be closer to what Porsche started using in the 992s, but I used Satin Black and like how it turned out. For those that want it painted the cost will be $110 shipped in the US, or $100 shipped in the US not painted (silver, as shown). I will send these anywhere in the world but I will have to charge $150 USD (or $160 for Satin Black) to cover whatever the shipping cost will be, but I will refund the amount over the actual shipping cost after I ship it.

So, please email me to confirm and when I have heard back from enough I will order and let everyone know here. I know some have messaged me here and emailed me but I want to be sure so please let me know: blackbirdbobz@gmail.com
