I test drove a Macan GTS a couple of weeks ago and Macan felt slower than my 997 C2. Awesome car but it doesn't really compare with a 911 in terms of feel and handling.

I've had the Macan for two months now and I love it. It feel more like an elevated Cayman or boxter.. Only downside is the breaking.
Handling is fantastic for an suv

I can speak from experience, having owned a 997.2 C2S and tracked both on the same track, the Macan GTS is in no way shape or form comparable to the 911. That being said, for what it is (a 4k lb SUV) it definitely is a lot of fun to toss around the track. Being top heavy has its disadvantages but then again, I can't haul around my kids in the 911 but I can in this. It's truly a great compromise between the 2.

I'm surprised by how much I like the red decal on the side blades and how it ties into the the red calipers. Not sure about the hood decal, it's a little too strong for me. I think it would be interesting to go red with the model designation.
