ABSOLUTELY! I subscribed to this thread just to monitor what Porsche would do since I am (or was) planning on getting a Macan. If there's a chance of me getting a non fixable rattling $80K car, I'm out.

Just give it back to them now and order something else.

Wow, sorry to read about your Macan problems. We've had our Macan Turbo for a couple months now and no rattles at all. It's been a perfect car so far.

are you mental? 1, its black and its brand new. Very little blending will be required. 2. A new quarter panel...because of that?

Have you been drinking?

Actually Quad, this is more accurate than you may realize. I just had someone decide to scratch the hood of mine, my local body shop was able to buff it most of the way out but said to completely get rid of it, it would need the hood and both fenders done for blending purposes.

I'd bring it back to Leipzig and raise hell.

Your local body shop can say whatever they want, but a brand new black car should not need 1/2 of the car painted to fix a 6" blemish on the bumper with a millimeter of damage on the fender. It certainly doesn't need a new quarter panel.

Happened in Germany, so you / Porsche will get a certified assessor to check the damage and he will decide how it gets repaired. That's how it works over here. But doubt that you will need to spray the entire car, a good body shop will do wonders here...

Why is it so ironic? Ford sells a sh*t-ton of cars internationally. Unfortunately, we Americans love our big-*** cars and pickups so much that their best "hot hatch" configurations and many transit van configurations are seldom available here.

The Ford diesel transit van I drove for a couple of weeks in Germany, albiet ugly, was an awesome peoplemover, even on the autobahn at speeds you wouldn't think a diesel transit van would achieve.

OP getting nailed by a Ford is no more ironic than picking up your new Z06 in Bowling Green and getting hit by a Accord or a Prius.

I know there are plenty of folks who like their German SUVs - but after 2 years with my X5, I sold that pig and bought a Murano that was better equipped and handled far better (due in no small part, I imagine, to it weighing a thousand pounds less than the BMW). When it comes to daily-driver people movers, the Japanese are pretty damn good at making a consistent product.

I was ready to buy a Macan Turbo in the next few weeks but now I am hesitant. I don't want to spend 95K and have a poorly built car. Lots of options out there in that price point!!!

Can anyone else chime in on rattles and build quality issues with their Macan ?

I think there are nearly 100 to 1 examples of people chiming in that their Macan has been excellent and this is clearly an outlier. How many banks didn't get robbed today - You will only hear of the problems....

Have you contacted the dealer from which you purchased the Macan? Seems like they should be bending over backwards to get the problems taken care of, otherwise they should allow you to purchase a different vehicle. Seems like the dealer needs to step in...

@ZZinger: Mine is flawless, love it. Can't go wrong with it, if there is something wrong, which very rarely happens with a brand new car, your dealer will fix it instantly.
