Consensus on side blades?
Just thinking ahead here, what are the thoughts regarding the side blades. Aside from me not getting exactly why they're there, I'm thinking they might blend with the black but I'm not sure. What are most planning to do, have those painted or use the contrast with black highlights elsewhere?

That is one of the reasons I'm going to wait until I see the vehicle before I order it. Carbon fiber should look spectacular with the black, but I plan to wait and drive both the S and the Turbo before placing an order. I find it hard to believe that this could replace my C4 S for a daily driver but I am not going to rule it out because I have a need for an SUV on a regular basis

Until Porsche has some of the other bits it's hard to use black accents with the black side blades. Black roof rails are not available, and gloss black window trim is not available, but flat black window trim is available.
I had planned to use the black rails and window trim to help keep with the black side blades. But, since the rails aren't possible now I went with body colored blades instead, like the Turbo comes standard with.
Personally I don't particularly care for the side blades. My prediction is that down the road when the Macan gets refreshed the side blades will disappear. But, that's just my two cents.

the Blades are hideous...pay the $670 to paint them body color.
Or wait for later production, then you will be able to delete them for about $1,800.00, or so.
Typical Porsche deck; early Cayennes had an ugly black accent strip along the sills too.
I think Porsche does it on all early Production so when they delete it later it's a model delineation.
Motivation for the early suc...., er adapters to buy again.
Just MHO.

It's baffling to me, given the option to paint it, that it's there at all. Matte black I think I could have dealt with. With black rails and matte black on the window trim I think that could have worked, without an up charge. We'll see I hope the rendering on the website is in error. I've read reports that state a textured matte black is in fact what it is.
It's annoying because the build is a la carte, you're not going to compromise esthetics for $900, yet you hate to take from something else for this.

You need to see them in real life first before you make the call... I was on the fence about them, after seeing them in the flesh, they're actually quite nice! The S I saw here in sydney was white with the blades left black and RS Spyder wheels.. pretty much the combo I am going to order. They contrast nice, especially if you opt for gloss black shadowline pack.
They are textured too, so I am not sure that painted will look better? possibly worse IMO
