That would make them next to invisible when looking at the front of the car.
Good luck doing that. If the front end were removed, you could be as elegant as possible.
There was literally no room for an invisible attachment.
The grills are functional as intended. Unless you are actually
looking for the zip ties, they are not noticeable. They look
way better than a bird smashed into the radiator.😂

The Zunsport set is virtually invisible. You'd be hard pressed to notice the flat hooks....Phil

Edited: I was beaten to the punch on my reply, plus couldn't link the right video through my phone.

RGS and Zunsport are both terrific grills and it just depends on your preferred mounting and look to which you choose.

No doubt about the smashed bird. . I haven't received my grilles yet, but the RGS install video demonstrates installing the zip-ties as I described.

Purely cosmetic difference of course, and I'm sure they're not obvious if you aren't looking for them.

Can you describe the install?
The grills I installed were not expensive.
If the Zunsport are relatively easy to install,
it might be worth replacing.

Since I did not know the scope of the install, I chose the ones I installed.
I believe I spent less than $60. I think I will keep them unless there is a
compelling reason to spend hundreds of dollars.

The presence of zip ties on the front of a $100K car is questionable, but as long as you are good with it, that's what matters. Zunsport is pricier, but a much better presentation.

it just looked to me that you cannot really put anything else in there while that assembly is present.
Those “shutters” I assume you mean the horizontal splitters, are not removable. The grills
need to be inserted between them and adjusted to the proper orientation, then secured in place.
Easier said than done. Once the first is done, lessons learned make the second install
not to bad

When I first got my Macan, I was thinking that leaves could go into the large openings on the left and right sides of the front. But since the openings are so large, I figured I could get my hand in to clean them out. I never though a rock might puncture the radiator. Thanks everyone for the tip about the radiator grills.

I just ordered mine from Radiator Grill Store and as their video shows, there are indeed three small loops behind each horizontal slat on each side (my car has just one slat per side, which makes the opening so large) that you can use to attach the zip ties to. That way, you won't see the zip ties at all.

By the way, I looked carefully at the front of my wife's Mercedes E class, and it has a plastic grill with horizontal diamond shaped openings protecting the radiator. I guess MB thought about the possibility that a rock could puncture the radiator but Porsche didn't think of the possibility, or just didn't care.

I hope to install mine this weekend on the Macan. The reply I hear from Porsche service on occasion is that the grills could increase engine temperatures as the airflow is more obstructed, and leaves may block the grills covers completely while driving rather than passing through, again leading to higher temperatures.

That said, I've taken my Boxster with grills to a HPDE and had no overheat issues whatsoever, plus I'd rather keep an eye on temps and pull over if needed versus getting a radiator puncture.

Also odd, as some Porsche trims apparently have included grills as OEM. Maybe Porsche just wants to give us all the opportunity to take pride in successfully completing a DIY project on our cars.
