Default Radiator grills?

Anyone install radiator grills on their Macan?
I am surprised the radiators are so exposed,
I worry about damage from debris and rocks.

I purchased but have not yet installed Radiator Grill Store grills for my Macan, having previously used them on the fronts and side intakes of my Boxster. I actually prefer the real wire weave of Zunsport but their grills install over the plastic while the RGS go behind and look more factory.

I had the zunsport on my 997.2
Both side grills and also for my third center
radiator. They really finish up the appearance
and are so practical.

I did Zunsport on my Macan because I was too lazy to remove the bumper at the time . I'm happy with how they look and they have held up well over the last few years.

Good news is you don't have to remove the bumper on the gen3.

I, too, installed the ZUNSPORT a couple of years ago. They are easy to install, stay put and still look brand new. Top quality parts and a great "insurance policy".

I installed the RGS grills on my 2022. It was a little tricky at first and I made sure to tape all the openings to prevent scratches. While doing this I saw a small ding in one of the intercoolers and realized the grills would prevent that from happening again. Later on, I actually pulled out a bird from one of the openings, so I'm glad they were in place.
It also looks better, as the black mesh blends in well with the rest of the front end.

Add me to the folks who have installed Zunsport grills on my 2023 Macan. Stylish and give me piece of mind.

The grills are a good idea. I have them on my 991.2 and now that you mention it, I'll be ordering the RGS ones for my Macan.

My previous SUV, a BMW X1, got disabled on a cross-country trip when a rock punctured an (un-grilled) lower radiator and emptied all of the engine coolant. Had to leave it at a dealer in El Paso, get a rental car, and then drive 15 hours round trip to pick it back up after the repairs. That will ruin your day. Grills are cheap insurance against that kind of thing, and they look good too.

I installed my radiator grills today. They were “Custom Cargrills” brand and flexible, as the really need to be in order to install behind the vent splitters. They came with plastic zip ties, after installing the first one I used my own longer ones. The supplied ties are short IMHO.

There are 3 mounting points. Third one is way back on the right side

just curious - do you remove your radiator shutter curtains assembly completely to mount those mesh screens in there?
i understood all macans were supposed to have those shutters as a standard feature?
it just looked to me that you cannot really put anything else in there while that assembly is present.

Bin those and look into the Zunsport or other options. Between the zip tie and rubber gasket pushing out like that, there are much better options that have a cleaner presentation.

There are no shutters for the intercoolers.

Because there are three mounting points on the backside of that plastic shutter-like part, it should be possible to install the zip ties so they run through just the mounting points and the screen, but don't go around the plastic part.

That would make them next to invisible when looking at the front of the car.
