Macan S vs GTS
A CPO is just a warranty. No different in any way than Fidelity and the others. You are being misleading.
Porsche Approved (CPO) Vehicles are inspected by factory trained technicians who conduct a 111-point mechanical, cosmetic and visual inspection, using original Porsche parts. Each vehicle must pass this rigorous Inspection before it can be eligible for enrollment into the Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned Program.
Adding my 2 cents.
Bought a new 2020 nicely outfitted with PDLS+, Premium Package, Sport Design, keyless entry, tow hitch, heated steering, air suspension , black window trim, SC, surround view, blind spot monitoring, heated windshield (waste of cash), adaptive cruise, 14 way seat, 19" rims, F+R heated seats, garnet red cluster. Silver with silver/red garnet interior.
I'm currently at near 39k miles. The only problems I've encountered were:
1) 800 miles in the battery died. Reason unknown why a brand new AGM died, but 4 days on a CTEK brought it back to life. It's now on a maintainer any time it's not driven for more than 4 days. Pathetic...
2) Electric gremlin. Headlights started flashing in darkness; like when driving into a garage. Dealer re-flashed the module with no explanation. Can't remember the exact mileage now but under 5k.
Oil changes done regularly and no other problems to note.
I do all my own work and I've just caught up with most maintenance: spark plugs, oil change, PDK and filter change as well as adaptation, VTG value checked on transfer case and no DTCs. Car is always in a garage when not being driven.
Main difference with the 2019 and Gen.2 is of course the Audi 3.0L engine vs the Porsche 2.9L in the S model. An advantage is the oil filter is on top of the engine so you don't have to crawl underneath for that. The silly so called "skid plate" a piece of cardboard with 10,000 screws that simply keeps dust out is a pain to remove and install at every change. So I just drilled out a hole below the oil pan fill plug; problem solved.
This car was a replacement for a 2008 V6 Touareg that I could no longer modify (adding blind spot monitoring would have been a monumental pain and expense for example) given we age and the wife needed more tech to keep her safe on the road. As an example, I reversed engineered a heated steering wheel in the Touareg at a cost of $800 in parts with the wheel coming from Poland. So adding blind spot would have been... If they had sold a 2020 VW Touareg I would never have bought a Macan or any other make. My 2008 V8 air suspension Touareg will be with me forever, absolutely bullet proof as long as I can get (electronic) parts for it. But since VW never knew how to sell the Touaregs this was a distant second best.
I haven't towed anything with it yet but given it can only handle 4,000 pounds compared to the Touareg's 7,700lbs. it was just for towing little trailer things if we needed to evacuate due to fires.
As a note, the 2020 was the last year that *** could be permanently defeated by simply pressing a button and having it remember it. If that's important to you keep it in mind.
No other issues reported with the car being driven year round (Hakka studded in winter).

That is what you are hanging your hat on? You yourself admitted in other threads that your current CPOed car had things wrong with it that should have been caught in that vast 111 point inspection.
Audi, Lexus and many other manufacturers do a far more detailed inspection of their pre-owned cars. Google it.
Fidelity and other top aftermarket companies will also do comprehensive inspections before issuing policies.
CPO is just a warranty. The same protection offered by others.

Looks like your Sunday schedule is pretty open. Sure, my current car is a CPO and I already have two things to take care of, despite $7000 spent by dealer to get it up to CPO standards. Those are minor inconveniences which I'll take care of when time permits. But I don't need new tires, new plugs, major 40k service and so on.Once again, if you think that CPO is just a warranty then stop spreading misinformation, this is inaccurate. Perhaps you work for Fidelity? That would make sense given your statements that CPO is nothing more than aftermarket warranty.

CPO is just a warranty. The inspections are only as good and only as thorough as the tech doing them. Some are good and some, as in your car, were not so comprehensive.
This dude got screwed, as have others. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1378...-services.html

Tempted to take a flyer on this one. Have a mechanic friend that’s going to look at it. Bit overprice and figure I can get it for 5k less as well.
Nice options and hits a lot of what I like, but I would have to pay for a warranty.

I buy Porsche vehicles because I enjoy the pain...
and don't even get me started on dealers.
The only one in AK at the time Kendall refused to perform the courtesy service on the Macan by simply refusing to reply to my calls or e-mails. Being 370 miles away, I did it myself. On the 992 they kept the car for 4 months because the idiot gold tech refused to work on the car because I told him what the problem was (under warranty); it's the CONBOX stupid. Whatever dealers write isn't worth the paper its written on and oh yeah, Porsche NA, useless through the whole process.
I do hear the BMW dealer in Anchorage is decent and since the Porsche dealership can't fix their cars they seem to have techs that can do it over there. I would have bought the M3 Touring CS if it was available; alas it isn't.. So CPO or not, I'll get a horse before I set foot in the only P dealership here or buy another one.
