I've been using this box for over 2 years and it's been great. I recently added the free full screen mod but still through the Carplay input instead of installing the full AA package. It's seamless and works just like a factory connection.

Thanks.
I saw many of those dongles on Amazon and not sure if there are any difference between them...Just wondering if there is any that I should avoid.
I also saw people adding an apps or something like that into the system, but you still need to add one if you want to go wireless...

I used Innovative Software, then the AA wireless box. Flawless but the install was expensive. I think there is a free new do-it-yourself method that has just been released or will be released shortly. No idea about that one.

You would need a dongle (AAwireless, Ottocast, Motorola MA1, etc) to get wireless.
BUT if you need support for both CarPlay and AA, then you are better served by using a box like the one in the second post that tunnels AA through CarPlay.

While this free SD activation method is new, the actual AA activation has been around for years. I've not seen a single post on any forum where someone was denied warranty service as a result of activating AA. No matter, you need to assess the "risk" and make your own decision.

WADR, I deliberately told my Porsche dealership tech guy about the modification, and he was very interested in and thought it was cool. That being said, I have never had any issues with my PCM, so have never brought it in for service. Could you go into details about how a PCM warranty claim was denied?

Regarding the bolded, did you ask your Porsche Service Manager directly if Porsche would repair/replace your modified PCM free of charge under warranty if there was a problem?
As for the PCM that was not covered under warranty and remembering that Porsche corporate (not the dealer) has final say on warranty service, an owner attempted to apply a firmware mod to a PCM, the update did not take, and it went into a reboot loop and could not be recovered, Porsche did not approve warranty replacement and the owner had to pay the full cost of replacement.

Thank you for your input. Could you please elaborate what kind of service would require the dealer to touch the PCM? Much appreciated if you can share that info.

I am referring to service for the PCM itself (anything contained within such as NAV, radio or other functions), not referring to any other part of the vehicle here. A modified PCM should not be a disqualifier for an unrelated part of the vehicle.
PCM's fail, I know of a number of then that have been replaced for various problems, they are not inexpensive units, but then again not much in a Porsche is.
