Porsche Connect Navigation & Infotainment
Just got the notice to renew this feature for $205 for 1 year. Those of you who elected not to renew, what happens? Is navigation lo longer available at all, or can you still use the map, just not the guidance/real-time traffic/POI's, etc...? $205 is pretty steep for something I don't use much, although I do like to keep the map up on screen. Most navigation is done through Google Maps/Car Play.

I use Waze/car play for live traffic info

I use Waze on Car play/AA most of the time or Google maps for satellite, but I am not willing to code the PCM for full screen. The native full screen map in satellite view is nice, or when in the aux side window while using Caplay/AA, or the instrument panel LCD.

I talked to the helpline when ours was up for renewal. The agent was refreshingly honest and said that since I use CarPlay exclusively, there is really no benefit.
The only thing to be aware of when traveling in areas with poor cell coverage is that you need to download maps for the area to your phone before leaving home (Apple Maps supports this as of iOS 17), Google Maps does as well. The built in nav stores all the map data onboard.
FWIW we did opt to keep the vehicle telematics sub (Car Connect remote/safety/security).

I like the full screen satellite maps that are only available with the subscription. It's a novelty but worth the annual payment to me.

Android auto is not available on the Macan from the factory so there is no true default, unless the PCM is modded through software updates to run full screen or by a small box that connects to the USB port to run it in the 1/3 screen CarPlay input. You cannot run Android auto and Carplay at the same time since each system relies on a phone that has each OS (Android or Apple iOS).
