Default 2024 Macan GTS Radiator Protection

Not sure where the text went— retyping:
Why does Porsche not add protection for the rads, other than for the GT cars?
A good stone will break a cooling fin and render you motionless.

I’ve had it happen on an AMG that had way better protection.

I bent a fin just taking this photo!

Thanks, I will tell him. But why is an aftermarket part even necessary?
I see the GT2/3 911 get a proper mesh… why only those?

Why does a dog lick himself?Other manufacturers do the same thing. On the G80, the oil cooler can easily be damaged from flying debris. Many owners install guards/mesh for protection.

Are you comparing a Hyundai to a Porsche? Since when is a G80 the standard for anything?

What’s wrong with the Hyundai G80? Macan is the entry level model of the P-car line up. I love my ‘22 Macan GTS but it’s no Cayenne TGT.
FYI, I meant G80 as in BMW M3CX.

OP is referring to the Hyundai G80 and not the Bimmer, to his credit.True, the S58 trumps Audi’s 2.9 by a huge margin, and I like Audis.

One of the first things I did was to install mesh guards in the openings. It was a fairly easy job and I think looks way better.

They are actually intercoolers, not radiators. Zunsport grills are the way to go if you want them. Something to consider....personally I would rather replace the intercoolers in 75K miles than deal with removing the bumper cover every 6-12 months to clean the debris out that will collect behind the Zunsport grills. BTDT on other Porsche's with the Zunsport grills and not worth the headache to me. In my experience it's difficult to remove the grills for cleaning without damaging the bumper, you really need to pull the bumper cover. YMMV.

Agreed! This is from experience and having owned cars with IC's in similar places.

Which aspects of the S58 are a decade more advanced than the EA839 2.9TT?
