Was def. interested in a Macan EV before it was reveled. However once I saw the design (did not like), price (expensive) and Taycan's depreciation after just a year (crazy) decided to wait and see. GF has a model 3. It's fun to drive but she doesn't feel safe in it, say it feels cheap. Don't have a home charger but she does not commute everyday and the supercharger network has been reliable. When we use non-Tesla chargers that's another story. Very mixed bag. Now that Tesla has decided to stop expanding their network already hearing some car makers are pausing the switch to NACS.

A hybrid Macan that goes abour 45 miles on battery would be the best of both worlds.

Infrastructure for charging EVs isn’t ready for prime time. Until electric charging stations are as common as gas stations, and charging can be accomplished in the 5 minutes or so it takes to gas up, EVs are not the answer.

I wouldn't get the Macan EV, but I see the appeal, and based on how amazing the Taycan is to drive, I'm sure the Macan EV will be the same. I didn't initially like the price hike, but since the base Macan 4 is the equivalent of the S, it started to make sense. When looking at it from that perspective, a Macan EV with the same options as my '23 S was just under $6k more including destination. I don't think the price increase is unreasonable, but I'd still stick with the current ICE Macan.

Neighbor and I, both long term Porsche owners, had our Macans in for service same week.

Not at all impressed with the Taycan.

Got the Macan for road trips, because Wife said the 911 not comfortable. The other 20% of my total miles. Infrastructure not ready.

No paddle shifters on an electric car. Have to ride the brake. This is a deal breaker for me.

I very much agree ! The gas powered Macan will last for many years. The Macan EV is a disposable item....Other than quiet, I don't see the point.

Completely agree.

My '23 Macan S is my first Porsche (although I worked for a Porsche dealership while in college transferring cars and got to drive every current model at the time). But, when they cease production of the ICE, I'll be looking for a low mileage CPO Macan GTS.

I won't get an EV Macan whenever I finally get rid of my GTS. I likely won't replace it with a Porsche. The rest of them are too expensive to justify given the miles that I typically put on my cars (not like the Macan GTS is easy to justify but it's easier) and I don't like everything going all screens for the driver's display. One of the reasons I love my Porsches is they're more tactile & visceral than many other current cars. I'll probably try to find something that fits that bill, although it does seem like that's getting harder & harder to find.

I'm surprised / not surprised that Porsche took the physical tach out of the middle of the new 911's driver's display. That seems like sacrilege to me. Kinda like the fried egg headlights on the 996. Hopefully there will be enough backlash to make them revert for the next new 911 model in a few years.

Hopefully by the time my GTS is "done" the industry will have realized that we're NEVER going to an all-electric consumer car fleet and they'll start going back to more physical instruments etc. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I want to FEEL stuff when I drive...not be in a quiet technology pod that does everything for me.

I love my Macan. It's a great daily driver, but I don't find anything exciting about the engine at all. It's a 2017 Turbo, btw. Electric would be just fine.

If I want to drive something exciting, I have my Cayman R. I'd be a lot less interested in full electric in a track car.
