14 way vs 18 way seats

This is my takeaway as well. At 145 lbs, the 18 ways are perfect for me. I've driven several loaners with the 14 ways and they are what I would expect in a Lexus and I feel no support in them. I'm used to bolstered seats so I'm glad Porsche offers a choice and it's important for people to actually sample the seats before buying.

18-way is the way for me. 6'2, 36" waist, 210# with broad shoulders. Been on quite a few 5+hr drives with no issue.
Now...let's talk about the 987.2 sport seats...I cannot drive for more than 90min due to the narrow seat back shape.

In my 23 Macan S I have the 14 way seats. Those seats are the best seats I have had in any car. Even better than my Volvo seats, which were phenomenal. Last week I had a loaner with the 18 way seats and I must say those seats were terrible and super uncomfortable. I tried every possible adjustment and there was not any position which I could seat in without being super uncomfortable. On top of the nasty seats, this was a base Macan and that was another big disappointment, but this is a whole other story. Those of you who experienced both seat versions, what are your thoughts?

My Macan Turbo has 18 way seats and I find them too aggressive for me personally. I'm thin. 165 lbs, 6' tall, so yes they fit me fine. But the side bolsters on the seat back can relax enough for my taste. And the seat back has too much "sink" to it. The lumbar support can't compensate. So I feel like I'm being squeezed and forced to sit with hunchback posture. I would definitely look for 14 way seats if I had it to do again.
The funny thing is that the sport seats in the Cayenne are completely different. They are way more relaxed and honestly much more comfortable for a daily in my opinion.

I specced the 18-way seats on my S because it was only a $380 upgrade with the Premium Package Plus, and I like more aggressive bolstering. I found the 14-way seats to be more comfortable, but lacking lateral support. I'm 5'9 and around 200 lbs. and I have no trouble feeling comfortable with the extra bolstering. They can be tight depending on how you set the seat, but as someone that uses my Macan for autox and the occasional track drive, I think it is worth it. But you should try them both and go with what works best for you.

18 are for skinny people but for my butt it is way too confining and just not comfortable. The 14 way are easy to get in and out and are very comfortable.

BTW, I have also a 981 Boxster with the 14 way seats. Those seats are not as comfy as the Macan seats but still ok. In my last 2 981s I had their standard basic seats. I think those were much better than the 14 way seats of my current boxster. But the 14 way seats in the Macan are the best of all Porsche seats I sat on.

18-ways need to be climbed into. 14-ways can be slid into.
18-ways encase and grip the body.
14-ways are a supporting structure with less affirmative grip on the body.
