14 way vs 18 way seats

In my 23 Macan S I have the 14 way seats. Those seats are the best seats I have had in any car. Even better than my Volvo seats, which were phenomenal. Last week I had a loaner with the 18 way seats and I must say those seats were terrible and super uncomfortable. I tried every possible adjustment and there was not any position which I could seat in without being super uncomfortable. On top of the nasty seats, this was a base Macan and that was another big disappointment, but this is a whole other story. Those of you who experienced both seat versions, what are your thoughts?

14's are comfortable but 18's are the best seats I have ever had and they are also much better than the 18's in the Cayenne. Not to be personal but what is your ballpark weight?

+1.
14 way is def. much more comfier seats but 18 way (or even 8 way sport seats) hugs so well and its also my preferred seats for my Macan and 911.

I have the 14 ways and I really like them... very comfortable for long highway drives. The 18s are also great and even more supportive but only once you get in them. I found the bolsters make getting in + out a bit more of a pain than I'd like for a daily driver.
Agree though, your size + weight probably makes a material difference in which one you'd prefer. Before ordering you absolutely need to sit in both to see which one works for you.

Weight is on the higher side, that might be one of the reasons I didn't like the 18 way. Hate those side bolsters on both parts of the seat, they hurt more than they support, even when you fully open them up. The 14 way seat are like custom made for me, it fits like a glove. I am glad that I had the chance to drive the car with the 18 way seat. When I order my next Porsche, no way I will order those seats.

I like the 14-way better for a daily driver. The 18-way felt more aggressive, in constant race-mode and it was hard to relax in them, even with the bolsters fully relaxed.
It depends on body size, I am a deadlift and pull-up addict and never skip leg or back day so I found the upper body bolsters most uncomfotable by my lats/mid-back.

14 ways are more supportive than they look. If it were a Macan GTS weekend-only car, I'd likely get the 18 way. But for everyday use, I prefer the 14 way. 6'1" and 205 pounds, 35" waist. 4 back surgeries including a lumbar fusion.

I have 14s in my Macan, but have sat in 18s at the dealership. The 14s are comfy, but the 18s offer way more support while being comfortable too.
I am converting my 14 driver seat to an 18.

It's usually a body size thing. 18-ways are liked by the slimmer crowd, 14-ways by the wide-shouldered crowd.

Coming from 14-way seats in my previous Macan S to 18-way in my current S, I was at first unsure whether I liked them. My wife immediately loved them. I am 6 feet tall and 12.5 stones, so not an unusual shape and my wife is petite (and used to the sports seats in her Mini Cooper).
It did take me a few weeks to appreciate the 18-way seats and now I wouldn't have anything else. I do find that you have to sit in to them rather than slide your a*s* onto them and step out of them rather than slide off.

I just sourced a 18 way Alcantara set im swapping in for my 14 ways. I’ll lose ventilated seats but I feel the 18’s are a tremendous upgrade for smaller frames over the 14 ways. Part of the problem is my wife has an X5M comp whose seats are epic. My 14’s felt pedestrian

Our first Macan S we spec'd with 18 ways and I LOVED them. Wife did too. Found them incredibly comfortable. We did several 1000+ mile one way drives with that car. Never any discomfort.
Current Macan S was purchased used. It has 14 ways. They are very comfortable but lack lateral support when doing spirited driving. If it was remotely economical, I'd swap to 18's. Car is otherwise fantastic.
I'm 203, 6'; 36" waist with cyclists legs

18-ways are like a glove. Bring bottom cushion and seatback bolsters in as far as can be tolerated, then your body has uniform pressure support everywhere.
This is the key to comfort and is somewhat counterintuitive.
When the seat has a firm, but not tight, grip on your body, pressure is uniformly distributed and the body does not move in the seat. This is comfortable for me on all-day drives.
With 18-ways the occupant sits "in" the seat.
With 14-ways the occupant sits "on" the seat. Big difference.
