I heard there was an issue getting sourced parts that come from Belarus.

Same problem they had two years ago when wiring harnesses were sourced from the Ukraine?? You'd think they'd have it resolved by now!

Looks like Porsche is denying it now. https://jalopnik.com/porsche-cant-se...-no-1851235453

Updated: Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 3:32 p.m. ET: A Porsche spokesperson reached out to Jalopnik to refute the claim that this issue is in any way related to sanctions against Belarus. They were also quick to note that none of the cars affected will be re-routed to other countries. The parts will be replaced at port before then going on to the dealership for delivery. They could not go on record as to the reasoning for import delays, what the part that needs to be replaced is, or from where it is sourced.

For those who don't know, Jalopnik is a website formerly part of the Gawker Media company run by Nick Denton, a self-proclaimed journalist with very strident views on facts or decorum. They went bankrupt when publishing, among other garbage, leaked scripts for a Tarantino film, false allegations claiming a married magazine executive was involved with a prostitute, repeated attempts at sexual shaming women or gays in general and specific high profile individuals like Peter Thiel in particular, portions of a pro "wrestler"/entertainer's sextape, and various other nefarious gossip trash. Following the easily predicted bankruptcy, assets of the Gawker online slime syndicate were eventually acquired by a parent of The Onion, which apparently is watching its rotten assets continue to crumble.

I see no reason why anyone would ever cite have cited Jalopnik or any other Gawker site for reliable information, then or now.

The reason someone would cite them is because they don't know the history, like me.

I had seen other outlets posting about it, but I'm sure those sites probably have their own issues.

O2-
My dealer had a slot that locked yesterday, for a May delivery. He did not mention anything about delays (for the Macan). They are not affected by the wiring harness issue.
Slots are out there, make some phone calls.

cheers,
NAV

It turns out that US Customs is holding some Porsche vehicles at port of arrival due to parts manufactured in China with forced labor.

My new Macan GTS was built on 9/27/23 and finally go to the dealer on 2/7/24. It sat in Emden for 3 months due to a US customs hold.
I'm loving it so far! Best daily car I've ever owned. It was worth the wait.

glad you finally got it. They are telling me April and it is in production so hope it doesn’t get put in the penalty box. Don’t know if it was true but something about chips made in Belarus subject to US ban. I have 18 Macan gts as my daily and love it except for the intermittent CarPlay that drops my calls. Have a 17 cayenne turbo s that sits in storage that is being sold. Have a custom 73 Land Rover series truck with a 950hp supercharged ls3 being built . Hopefully finished by year end to satisfy my loss of the cayenne.

Not sure about this as I just reached lock date on a '24 GTS with an anticipated delivery date in mid May. The Macan's were not impacted by the current issue with vehicles hung up at the Ports.

My slot locked and was told mid April delivery. Asked for the build tracking link today and was told the car is delayed due to “chips” . Now allegedly mid June.
