Is Macan S the best value performance vehicle on the market?

As a car guy who is constantly monitoring the market and looking for good car deals, I finally pulled the trigger earlier last summer and bought a brand new Chalk Macan S. For me it checked all boxes and with 9% discount, I got it for just $69k and some change. Not only that the Macan S drives and sounds like a Porsche, I also think there is no other car on the market you can buy for this price and get that much car for it. Maybe I am wrong but in my opinion the Macan S is the best value Porsche and overall best value performance car on the market. Would love to hear what others think here.

The S is a good performance-for-money value for all Porsches. Better performance than base, and without the large step-up in price for GTS, Turbo and above.
Comparing Porsches to competing models with the same performance, for example 0-60, Porsche is always near the bottom (unfavorable) of the value-for-performance comparison. For one example, consider the Macan S vs the X3 M40i. 0-60 is almost the same, and the BMW is much less expensive. The X3 has much more rear seating and rear cargo space than the Macan.
Within the Porsche model lineup, S is a great buy. Looking to other brands, Porsche is always higher price for the same vehicle attributes. Therefore not the best buy on the market. Porsche vs any other mainstream brand will never make sense financially. You want a Porsche and will pay for it, or you won't.

We are over 80K Miles on our '19S and love it. No problems. All schedule maintenance completed. Good luck!

To me 0-60 dominance is not the critical variable (although my Turbo is no slouch). All around handling, braking and road feel in all situations is what separates Macan from its competition. It is as satisfying a ride as my C2S and that for an SUV makes it a great buy.

OK use _fill-in-the-blank_ vehicle attribute. Macan is good at alot of things, not good at others. Macan is not perfect, no car is.
The thread is talking about S trim being a good value "on the market".
"On the market" for Porsche Macans, S trim is a good value in the sense of price for performance. Performance is defined by the beholder.
"One the market" considering other brands, Macan S is not a good value. Value = price divided by XYZ vehicle attribute. Porsche is the highest priced vehicle compared to any mainstream segment participant, therefore not a good value on an apples-apples basis.

Last summer nearly all dealerships in Los Angeles were giving between 7-9% discount. I talked to South Bay, Downtown and Rusnak Pasadena and they were all going pretty aggresivly to sell their Macans and Cayennes. Porsche South Bay even emailed me in August (or September) with a personalized mass email and offered 10% off on all their remaining 2023 Macan and Cayenne models. The market hasn't changed much since summer and got even better for the buyers. I am sure when you contact any of them in Los Angeles today you will get the same discount.

I agree that the Macan S is maybe the best buy going in Porsche land. You got a great color. Enjoy!

Audi SQ5, Prestige trim with Sport package (Air suspension, adaptive shocks, torque vectoring rear diff).
Nicer tech, doesn't handle as well, slightly lower interior quality/fit/finish, more features, better overall value for the $.

I have a '24 Macan S on order (arriving April), coming from two consecutive X3 M40i leases, the M40i is an incredible performance bargain, significantly smaller lease payments for comparable performance. Test drove the above mentioned SQ5, the M40i blew it out of the water except for perhaps subjective interior/exterior design (hated the SQ5's fake exhaust tips). The M40i is a great car but that said really looking forward to my first Porsche.

I have a 2023 S that I ordered and have been driving the past year. I didn't get any discounts, and the full price was $81k. While there are better luxury crossovers for a lot less money, the Macan drives like a Porsche, feels like a Porsche and goes like a Porsche. And that too me makes it worth the extra money over an X3, F-Pace, Stelvio, Q5/SQ5 etc.

I wouldn't say it's best value performance vehicle. There are a lot of cars faster + cheaper to maintain, better discount (like others mentioned, SQ5 or X3 M40 or M, AMG, etc.) but I would say it's most fun performance SUV.
As 911 GTS owner, even with my T, I'm really happy how it drives.
I considered SQ5 which is much faster/cheaper and a lot cheaper to maintain but.. it didn't drives like Macan for sure.

Back to the topic: the Macan is the best and the worst all at once. It is among the most expensive in its segment (there goes the value proposition), it's among the smallest (there goes the utility), and several others are faster (on paper). But, it's far more elegant (no iPad stuck to the top of the dash), rides and feels like a small luxury crossover should (looking at you, X3M) and doesn't rely on gimmicks (fake engine noise, etc) to overcome any deficiencies.
I used to own a Cayman S with a pickup for my DD. Sold both and got an '18 Macan Turbo. Loved it for what it was but hated myself for thinking it could replace both cars and scratch both itches. Sold it, bought a 997 and another truck. Still love the small car for weekends, still hate the truck every day. Now trying to find a 2022+ Macan S with juuuuust the right options spec so my wife doesn't have to hear me complain anymore.
