408 is not low, but may not tell the entire story with the health of the battery. How old is the battery?

Battery issues do result in PDK error messages. Many instances of that conveyed on the 997 forum (the first Porsche model released with a PDK - 2009.)

It may or may not be the source of the issues you're having but it's good to rule that out as a factor given the relatively low cost to address.

I know nothing about the 997 PDK low-battery-voltage induced problems, but the Macan PDK (DL501) is an entirely different transmission, and I have not seen any reports of low-battery-voltage induced problems on the Audi forums, where this DL501 PDK has been used since 2010 in the Audi S4.

Proactively replacing a battery that is more than 5 years old is not a bad idea, but I don't think it is the likely root-cause of the PDK issue.

There are some interesting comments in this thread related to weak battery / low battery voltage and that possibly creating transmission error codes...

Perhaps the battery has absolutely nothing to do with the OP's issues. My impression is that he was looking to get some insight into the possibilities of what could be at issue short of having to go to a dealer and pay for a diagnosis. It's looking that that may be the only practical option at this point.

Yes, thanks for everyone’s input! I’m going to drive it a bit more and see if battery or transmission gives me trouble. The risk is being stranded, but life’s full of risk lol! My fidelity warranty is good for 3.5 more years so if Transm, should shake out under warranty!

btw, I’m a “ she”

993 forum all think I’m a “he”, too Not many of us on RL I guess…
