Trans. Fault Poss. No R gear Drive on poss.
I did a search and read the posts about this error.
I got this error on my driveway. It went away and hasn’t come back for the last 2 short trips. No codes when we hooked it up to a reader. Anyone have this error? Did it go away and come back? Did you also have no codes but then finally threw a code? Any info on your experience appreciated. I can’t take to dealer to diagnose without a code. *is the dealer’s reader better than consumer reader; could the dealer reader pull a code when we can’t? Don’t really want to pay diagnostic fee for them to hook up a reader and say they don’t see anything!
thanks!

It is not uncommon for PDK error codes to present themselves if the battery is weak. I would check the health of your battery as a first step.

Were you able to pull a fault code? If yes, what was it?
if no, how did they diagnose to know it needs a pdk replacement?
thx!

A generic scan tool cannot retrieve transmission fault codes. You need a Porsche specific scan tool to do that.
With that dash message, there definitely will be fault codes stored in the transmission control module.

down shift from 2nd to 1st is unusually rough too, less so when it's in sport mode.
It threw a similar message and went away after the car had been sitting for 2 hours and never come back,
brought it to the dealer 3 weeks after and they are able to pull the code stored in the TCU,
my SA believed it's the mechatronics that failed, but since the car is under warranty, Porsche wants to take a look at it too,
they send a tech and pull the fluid sample and found debris in it, the tech from Porsche believe it had cause enough damage to required a whole PDK replacement.
mine is 6 years, 65k miles when that happens, good luck to you.

I have a fidelity extended warranty so they would cover it as well. I had the pdk service done at 40k mile major service. But that was 2018, so maybe same issue as you!
Thanks for the info, very helpful.
