2015 Macan Turbo - $5k Repair Order Reasonable?
Hello,
I recently took my ‘15 Macan Turbo, 110k miles, to my
local Porsche dealer for an tick/squeaking sound coming from my engine during idle and driving. The sound used to only be at idle, but has gotten worse the past few months. They seem to have found a litany of repairs that require attention:
“the noise you are hearing is coming from the crankcase ventilation system. Both the hose and lines needs to be replaced. $1497 +tax.
My technician found a few other items as well, an engine support bushing is torn- replacement on this would be $295 +tax.
There is also a front upper control arm bushing that is torn, replacing this would be $2944 +tax, and would also require an alignment which runs $349.95 +tax.
Lastly, the rear tires are both at the caution zone for replacement with 4/32nds of remaining tread. Replacement would be $801 +tax.”
Being on a budget, I’m trying not to make every one of these repairs in one fell swoop. In your experiences, which are the most pressing issues and do these estimates sound reasonable? $249/hr labor rate.
Thank you in advance!!!

$249/hr is why i take all my german cars to trusted independents. even the highest one here is $50/hr cheaper than the dealership.

Three grand for a control arm bushing seems suspect...it's a $60 part:

And should only take an hour or two to replace, not 10+

Tampa Bay Area. Porsche Clearwater is where I took it for service. Idle Sound here is a short clip of the sound it’s making while idling/driving, which they say is the crankcase ventilation needing new hose and lines. My independent mechanic replaced the breather valves thinking it would fix the issue (he assumed this was the problem because when running, he unscrewed the oil cap and the noise stopped) but this did not fix the issue.

Assuming your car is not under any Porsche warranties I would reach out to the local Porsche club for names of local independents and get a couple more quotes.

I'm in the Nashville area too. Would you mind DM'ing me your top two or three independent's? My '23 Macan will be under warranty for a while, but since I plan to do oil changes every 5k miles, I'd love to find a good independent and not have to pay the dealer $400 every six months.
