Do you have Ceramic coating/ PPF or nothing?
About to take delivery of my new 2023 Macan S and am just curious to hear how many of you have any sort of paint protection. I am right now tending on doing nothing because 1. I don't want to wait another week or so to drive my car and 2. I don't want to spend another 3-6k to get all this done. I will just take care of the car as good as I can and only hand wash it. If there are here and there some rock chips, will live with it. Still might change my mind and get this all done in few weeks. But again, wanted to here what others have done and would also appreciate to hear if you did it right away after you bought your car or at a later point. TIA!

Considered it as it was my first Porsche but in the end decided on nothing and after 4 yrs, car is still in excellent condition. A few rock chips on the front but nothing major. Do a thorough detail every year to clean, polish it and it still looks great. Just drive it and enjoy it. 911 would be a different story for a $100k+ car and would help with resale value.

Recommend u DO GET PPF
but what I did was ONLY to XPEL (forgot name of their best quality one) the front hood!!
make sure installer does in the “ONE PIECE 72” width”!!
cost $750 2years ago and was the best decision!!
IMO no where else is necessary but the hoods been spared except for one small chip that actually marred the PPF!!….. that would have been MUCH worse if didn’t have!!!

Just finished a full wrap on mine. I ordered the basic black color so that I could get the front grille color matched with gloss black. Went ahead and wrapped everything so I don't have to worry about swirls. It's a personal decision and I'd say most Macan owners would not wrap the car at all. Heck, most are happy sending it through an automated car wash. It will do nothing to help on resale. That said, I hate seeing swirls on my cars, so it was a must for me.

Did ceramic only for $1200 two years ago, couple hours from delivery. Body, glass, wheels. Guy spent three days on it. Thought a rock from an oncoming truck would crack the WS, but not a scratch.
Did Excel PPF on the TT 911 14 years ago. Protected well against a rubber part that flew off a Prius, 1 year from new. Not yellowing, but I have put some road miles on it, and it shows swirls.

Honestly I am just too lazy and too tired of waiting for the car otherwise I would have at least gone for the ceramic coating. I just want to take delivery and drive it. As mentioned before, might do it sometime in the upcoming days/weeks.

I did ceramic coat shortly after purchase, primarily because I was unsure of my schedule and how often I would be able to wash/wax. Even with a bit of grime, there is this glistening sheen that makes a difference.

Would anybody use a mobile detailer to do ceramic coating? I was just thinking this might be a compromise to save some time but not sure if the quality of their work can be good when they do everything outdoors in this crazy heat. And can they do the job what other places need 3 days for in 3-4 hours?

Did the PPF and Ceramic coating as well as signed up for Geico's MBI Program. I'm not sure what the price has increased the last five years, but, it's embedded in my insurance payments and runs me around $24/month. That's about $1,800 for a 6/100. Try getting another plan as good as. To get the best price, get it as soon as you take delivery. The lower the mileage, the less expensive. I just had to use it early last month. Upper control arms, realignment and new windshield with all sensored re-calibrated. Total to me? $250 and $50 respectively.
Hope it's everything you expect and then some. Enjoy!

BTW, if you go with an aftermarket warranty (and this goes for everyone...) MAKE SURE the warranty covers PDK's! Some warranties don't. Read the fine print....

You will have a ton of road rash for the detailer to deal with if you wait. Why I went straight from the delivery dealer to the indoor detailer. Sure, he can fix some road rash, but takes longer and costs more.
