A "248HP" 4 cylinder Macan is about 6.2 seconds 0-60MPH. A later "261HP" Macan is about 6 seconds.
A JB1 or JB4 piggyback tuning box (311HP, 363 Ftlbs) can bring that down to 5.5 seconds.
Main.. you're making me debate alot more. I was almost set on T and waiting my local dealer to receive the delivery then I'm really thinking of building S. It's alot hard to replace my 2015 Mini Cooper S...
my two cents…if this is your only car, the T may feel like it’s lacking in power and you might benefit from stepping up to the S. the T is not really going to press you into your seat, but it's close to as fast as an e36 M3 was 20 years ago - and most people considered that enough.
if you have a faster second car, the T does a more than adequate job of serving as a fast enough daily driver. It is lighter and has slightly better driving dynamics, it is more fuel efficient, and it is slightly cheaper to maintain. The options that are included with the T are orthogonal to what you get in the S, so even though they are 6k different in price, getting like for like will still run you close to 10k.
for me; the macan can’t be compared to a q5, the steering feel is worlds apart, and I felt the higher center of gravity in the q5 much more.
Google says a 2015 Cooper S goes 0-60 in n 6.2 seconds.
A 4cyl Macan is quicker that that.
With JCW tune/exhaust from dealership + BM3 tune, I think Mini is about the same.
And generally, tiny car with lighter weight feels faster. so that's my kinda worry.

Yeah, I have 991.2 GTS for fun/fast car so that's where I started looking Ts. Test drove T, S and enough loaner time with base models.
Base def felt slow and somewhat lazy. S does not seem that fast (not SC) but effortless press pedal to pass was more daily felt like but at least 8-10k more to get S with options I want. T seems a bit heavy an slow. It may not be slow but larger car always feels slower (due to the weight since I drive Mini Cooper S and 911.2 GTS both are pretty light).
So I keep telling myself, T may be plenty of over budget upgrade from Mini Cooper S (If it's 911 GTS replacement, I think GTS is the only way to go).

I think it's a simple answer and I've heard this tale many times. Get the S if you will leave the T stock. If you tune the T, it will be enough.
Absolutely get SC with any choice you make. There is an add-on option though for SC if you happen to find an example without it.

Having 991.2 GTS as fun car, I decided to go with T (8% off MSRP) that was delivered to my local dealer today.
T def lacks on power which makes me drive more relaxed. It's comfortable but still pretty tight and sharp that makes driving fun. So far, full comfort and Individual (Sport+ and PASM comfort) are my 2 go to settings.
It's crazy how T drives/handles compare to the base models. It's def a different car and it's 'almost' deserve T name plate.
Also I was slightly worried about the 8 way seats potentially not hugging enough compare to 18 ways I have on my 911 but these seats surprisingly hold me tight and really loving it.

I test drove both and didn’t feel much difference, may be due to a short test drive. I know on paper S looks better and I wanted to buy S but now I am questioning myself if I should just get a T instead as it will be better value for money.
Asking for help on this as I know many of you might have went through this point and may have drove both for a longer time. Thanks.
