Recently took ED delivery of my new Macan T. Wanted to share my impressions about first 2k miles and why I opted for this model against the others in the Macan range.
Impressions:
- Suspension: Combination of suspension and less weight on the nose make the ride very sporty. It complies very well in turns and was fantastic to drive in the alps.
- Power: Power is obviously where the Macan T struggles. S has a much quicker 0-60. However, I did drive a lot on the Autobanh and I can honestly say that it performed adequately. I didn't feel like I couldn't accelerate fast enough to jump in the fast lane.
- Stability at high speed: Got to 120mph on the autobahn. Could have easily gone faster. The car was very well composed at high-speed. I haven't driven other Macans at that speed but I suspect they are pretty similar in that area.
- Need to rev: Power is absolutely bad in low RPM but gets pretty good as you rev it up. Look up the power graph for the 2.0T. I suspect most people that drive the base hate it because even in sport mode, the PDK doesn't rev up the engine enough. Sport plus helps get the max out and so does using the shifters.
- Use on public roads: Having a 992 as a my fun car, I enjoy being able to max out my Macan T frequently without going to jail.
- T interior: For me, the T interior really stands out. It's a free option, has full leather dash, deviated stitching (inc. steering wheel), nice pinstrippe material on the seat. It looks stunning. The base and S really need to have the interior upgraded.
- Build it because decide: Many say that the price difference between the T and the S make it tough to justify going for the T when you can just pay a little bit more for the S. However, after building the base, T and the S, I found the base to come up to a very similar price as the T and the S to be ~8k more.
With that said, I wouldn't have opted for the T if I didn't already have another Porsche with 500hp. If this is going to be your fun car - I would go with a S or GTS. If this is your second car and power is not your main requirement, then you should consider the T.
If you hesitate between trims, spend the time to build each as this will reveal the real price difference.
A few weeks in and I’ve finally been allowed to drive the better half’s and honestly it’s a fantastic package. Plenty quick enough, brilliant ride quality on 21s, plush interior and surprisingly it sounds great with a lovely burble (had sports exhaust)
Mines steel and the ride is fantastic. My daily is a New Defender on steel wheels with big sidewalls and it’s at least an equal.
I always opt for the sensible wheels now as the roads are so bad, been there and got the T-shirt (had 20” Techarts on my 996 Turbo when I was a lot younger😳
I was trying to build a T but looks like to get memory seats , one has to go for leather interior with 14 or 18 ways as I could not find a way to add memory seats to that great Macan T interior 8 way seats , that is a bummer or am I missing Something

You can add standalone memory seats for $380 in the USA.
I just picked up my T this weekend. Coming from a 2017 Macan GTS that got totaled last year. I don't find much content on the "T" in this forum.... is there a sub forum specifically for the T?
