Default Plug Change Intervals?

As our cars age (ours is a '17 Macan GTS), it's interesting what Porsche recommends for its service intervals. The first spark plug change is recommended at 4yrs. 40,000 miles from new. But when you get to 6 yrs. 60,000 miles, they recommend a spark plug change AGAIN. So the original plugs can go 4 yrs. or 40k miles, but suddenly the plugs only go 2 yrs. or 20k miles, half as long. The cynic in me says the shorter interval is only because at 6 yrs., the car is beyond the range of most service contracts, so now the customer pays. I can't believe the plugs really need replacement at 2 yrs. 20k miles from the last change.

plugs in MY17 should be change every 30K miles, so the schedule is 30K, 60K, 90K, 120K...
sounds like the first plug change is late, and then they went with the schedule.

Maintenance schedule for MY '22 calls for spark plug replacement every 30,000 miles or four years. I'll probably see four years before I cover 30k miles.

You have to do what you have to do to maintain your warrenty. That being said there are a lot of good spark plugs being thrown away.
