Default Oil Pressure

2021 GTS

What is normal oil pressure at idle. I’m seeing about 12 psi with hot oil and I’m wondering if that is a bit low although it is at the bottom end of the normal range. It increases quickly with any throttle.

Stop using Mobil 1 and change it every 5k miles and your low oil pressure at idle will go away.

Under 1 bar is a bit low but nothing crazy. What weight oil do you run?

Hardly anyone that does regular UOA one white motor oil uses Mobil 1. The viscosity shears to a lesser grade in as little as 3,000 miles and the wear metals are higher than better oils. Use Driven DT40 for a 5W/40 weight oil or Driven DI40 for a 0w/40 weight oil, especially if planning to keep the car long term. If it's a lease, then use whatever you want as it will be the next owner that pays the price for that.

Over 8 cars (6 Porsches) and a boat, I've done UOA on every oil change for about the last 10 years using Mobil 1, Shell Rotella, Motul, and Driven oils and the Driven UOA results beat anything else used previously or tried in that vehicle.
