Just my two cents...Would be beyond shocked if you can find any dealer in the US that will even entertain the idea of a discount on a 2022 GTS. As it is there has been ADM all over the place on the nearly non existent remaining 2021s and even used 2021 listed for over MSRP and used 2020 GTS near msrp with miles on the clock. Best shot at getting anything off msrp on a 2022 (or not paying over) is to wait all this crazy out until the market calms down. Though the way things are looking, that could mean well over a year to get a 2022 GTS in your driveway.

I looked at the sales numbers for the Macan. Everything is as to be expected during the start of the pandemic (slow movement.) What was surprising is to see that sales are down again, dramatically. Like half the sales in the last couple of months vs prior. You might have a real chance at working a decent price for a vehicle on the lot.

Yes, you are correct. In fact, I was a bit taken back by the lack of inventory at the nearest dealer. 20 new Macan/Cayenne on the lot, not a single 911. There is one 2021 Taycan but it has almost 500 miles on it, so USED. But the drop in sales is across the board and all products. Perhaps consumers are spending money elsewhere, bars, gym memberships, etc. Or, just perhaps people are not spending because they realize we are heading for a serious economic crisis as confidence (consumer sentiment) is at an all time low. IDK about what things are like in your neck of the woods, but here we are still under the thumb of overreaching tyrants who wish we would all stay off their roads and under lockdown for the rest of the year... True story, bro
Edit: There is one used 2015 TurboS I would LOVE to drive. OMG is silver too!!! But it would take every penny of my "investments" to buy and I have the feeling I'm going to be paying more to buy the steaks I burn on the BBQ next week, soooo...

Also, Macan sales are only down for the last couple of months (and as expected at the height of the original pandemic.) All the other months have Macan sales at several thousand a month just as they have been in the prior years.

I went to my local dealer yesterday to look at an Macan in Midnight Blue to see if I liked that color or not. I asked about ordering a 2022 GTS and putting my name on a waitlist. She said, they don't have any allocations and it's $2500 down and 10% over MSRP. I was appalled, that's dealer robbery! Just before leaving, she asked if I wanted to put my name on the waitlist, I said, "I'm not paying 10% over MSRP".

Be careful, I have a MY2021 Turbo, same engine as the new GTS. The engine is excellent, but it is completely neutered by the PDK software which tries to keep it always at around 1,000 rpm. The only way to get it going is to always use Sport mode, also in the city. I don't think it's worth waiting so many months to get it, maybe the RS4 Avant is better.

"Give us the money and we'll see if we can get one." Sounds like it's a sellers market. Amoral seller! Wait till the entire market crashes, people will be trading their cars for food. But seriously that greed actually makes me angry. People who take advantage of a crisis should be publicly shamed, feel free to name them here so I can spam them with beastialty ****. -jk

There is a real shortage of cars out there due to a very limited supply of computer chips, which each car nowadays has many. Hence, very low inventories. Demand is still there, but supply isn't - so prices are going up. I cannot remember the last time I paid sticker or more - except this year. I purchased a Hyundai Palisade for one of my managers. They were in limited supply and were selling at $5K over. Dealers couldn't keep them on the lot. I agreed to pay $1k over and purchase their 100,000 mile extended warranty for a discounted price of $1700, so they agreed to the deal. I also ordered a 911 Turbo S for $5K over. I was lucky to get an allocation. Car should arrive sometime in March. This is the market we are currently in. Are there dealers who are trying to take advantage and gouge. Sure. But a quick and reasonable conversation with the sales manager quickly narrows things down (brings the price down) to a more realistic number - which at this time could be MSRP or a small amount over depending on supply and how desirable the car is. Some less desirable cars like some Chevys are selling at a discount - so is the Lexus LS-500 if anyone is interested interested.
