There are shortages of more than just chips. I heard third party story from the manager of a bicycle tire manufacturing shop in China. They couldn't produce product for a number of reasons. One in particular was a lack of valve stems. That was six months ago. His estimated time to get things back to regular production was a year and a half.

I'm in the midwest and recieved offer for 4% discount from two seperate dealerships on a 2022 Macan GTS order. I did place an order but I am struggling with color choices. This was a couple months back, so things may have changed by now.

I went to my local dealer yesterday to look at an Macan in Midnight Blue to see if I liked that color or not. I asked about ordering a 2022 GTS and putting my name on a waitlist. She said, they don't have any allocations and it's $2500 down and 10% over MSRP. I was appalled, that's dealer robbery! Just before leaving, she asked if I wanted to put my name on the waitlist, I said, "I'm not paying 10% over MSRP".

I understand that some dealers MAY now be persuaded to offer a discount on a base Macan and POSSIBLY S model as the number of allocations for these models are significantly more available than for a GTS. Most dealers have some base and maybe S models on their lots. Not aware of many GTSs on a lot or in a showroom. For instance, my (small) local dealer has four base Macans and one S model in stock. The only other models in stock are 18 Cayennes - that's it! No other new models on their lot.

II couldn't even get a discount on a base model Macan. If I can't get that, don't think I can even get one for a GTS. Their excuse was that no ADM for the base was more than fair with the supply shortages.
