2017 Macan GTS - Cobb tuner
#16
Have FSix Cobb in hand, changing plugs today and will be adding the tune this week to my '17 Macan S. I've already added the FSix intake filers with a surprised driver's seat impression. I didn't notice a great deal of difference in the acceleration from 0-60 in Sport but I did notice a real bump in rolling start power without Sport Mode selected. The turbos are pulling air in just a bit faster. Undoubtedly the 0-60 is faster than stock, and will help get me closer to that "Turbo" Macan that someone else bought before I could get to the car lot. So with the Staqe1 tune I may have bought a grin for all those $$$$. More to come...

Yeh, I think I'll take the plunge on this too.

^Thanks for the motivation. I need to get off the couch and install that tune... Just checked my email, it took 10 days for the Cobb to ship from FS, (however some items on the same order were not in stock and did not ship for another couple of weeks. I wish their page had reflected the back-order status.)

I should add to that post and offer a personal recommendation for Flat 6. They have been on the ball and shipped my last order quickly, Jon Swift (owner) personally reached out to me with a heads-up on some bolts that were slightly out of spec prior to my installation and every communication via email with multiple folks at FS has been quick and friendly. I would highly recommend Flat 6.

Stage 1, 91Oct,Cobb Tune installed, waiting for the modified file to come back from Flat 6. Wish there was a 92 Octane option as that is the max available in my state (that is legal.)

It took me two months to getting it plugged in. I was waiting for new wheels (rear tires where backordered.) One of the rear stock 20" Sport Design wheels that came on the vehicle had a crack. I didn't want to push a handful more horsepower through that rear wheel and buy a new rear quarter if it came apart. Worth the wait, I hope.

I have received the FSix tune for the Cobb. However I going to wait until next week as it's going to be 100 today and I have my kid this weekend. Will do some before and after with the Cobb then Flat 6 with DR app and report. Although honestly I am still scared that I will break something abusing this little SUV and looking for a suitable grocery getter wagon to drive while the PDK is being repaired, lol.

Gotta question. The Accessport has all maps preloaded for all the models ie base/s/Gts/turbo? When I got mine it said configure so I assumed it’s just the Gts map or maybe it is? Thanks in advance.

Yes, when you connect your AP to the vehicle you are asked to confirm the vehicle type and then you can see and load the multiple maps into the PCM. If you plug the Cobb into your laptop prior to the vehicle you will not see a list of maps. After you load a map then you can go to Cobb and download other/future maps and or send those maps to your tuner/mechanic. The map you load to your vehicle has it's own serial number and you would need this for support from Cobb should an issue arise.

Also, you should use a battery maintainer (I think Cobb asks for a 10a but I used a 4amp.) Chances are your battery is new enough to hold 12.5v or more for the eight minutes it takes to load the map, but why take a chance.
The weather forecast has improved (80 degrees) this weekend and I have zero children to deal with... hopefully I can load the FSix tune and get some decent pulls out of those turbos!!!

Took the Macan out earlier on a back country road for a couple of WOT runs. No records were set today. My best was 0-100 Km at six seconds flat. I was limited by the confinement from driveway to driveway and didn't preload. There is a good difference (improvement) over the straight Cobb tune. It would be nice to have a real closed track and both feet on the pedals prior to launch. Certainly a sub five second 0-60 is possible, it's going to take cooler temperatures and a better driver than me. I would say one of the best bangs for the buck at Flat6 is the intake filters. If you already have the Cobb in hand then the Flat6 stage1+ with the filers is worth the money IMHO, but the two together can be a big investment for the results.
I am looking forward to getting out early after the 100 degree days are over and stressing that PDK for real. Unfortunately shortly after my run some 74 old guy driving a 2008 Mitsu Eclipse did $1,600 worth of damage with his car key while I was shopping for groceries. The good news is he was caught red handed on my dashcam (idiot.) I decided not to have him cuffed and stuffed, but he will be served.
Edit: I want to make sure that I was clear on the part about the 0-100km time. There were two runs first 0-100km 7.7s (forgot to press "Sport") and then second at six seconds. I had a horrible start and were talking about a 2017 Macan S with 34K and a car seat that in it's former life was a loaner from Beverly Hills Porsche on Santa Monica Ave. Many a foot has tested it's depression onto the floorboard of this car. Also I have never used the DR (DragRacer) app before and my time was limited. I am happy with the results and look forward to real run.
