Default Headlight Lense Crazing - 2017 Macan

Sorry if this is redundant, did a search but came up without results. Below is a photo of the left headlight lens of our 2017 Macan. Obviously a defective lens or simply a poor quality product. Definitely not up to Porsche standards. Has anyone had any luck with PNA replacing the lenses under either under original factory warranty or CPO warranty (in this case)?

This is a known delamination issue on the 991s. Many have had headlights replaced under original factory warranty. I haven't read enough to know about CPO coverage.

Our 2020 Macon S LED headlight lens had minor interior issues and the dealer replaced it, no questions asked.

Is the other headlight like that? Or is it just the one?

My 2017 Macan S headlights look a little rough, but nothing like that - but I also have nearly 70,000 miles on it. I’d be curious to know how much would buff out with one of those headlight polishing kits they sell for $20 at Walmart or autozone.

Have you tried the old rub with white toothpaste trick (not gel, and don't pres too hard)? Also, there are fluids you can apply to fill in small scratches in lexan, acrylic, and polycarbonate, similar plastics.
But best if replaced under warranty!

We only had an issue with the left right front and the imperfections were on the inside of the lens.
Stay safe,

That’s very interesting, our left lens is much worse than the right!?

People over at macanforum.com have had success refinishing their headlights. it requires sanding the top layer off and then refinishing. Not for the faint of heart. If it's under warranty go to the dealer. If not, refinishing is an alternative to replacing an otherwise good headlight.

I'm going to assume that they don't sell just the lens, you have to buy the entire headlamp?

I had the same thing with both headlights on my 991.1. Both covered under CPO.

Thanks, that is encouraging.
Local dealer sales rep says the decision is made on a case by case basis and I need to make an appointment to leave the vehicle because Porsche requires dealers to video conference PCNA (or Germany?)

Even if they replace it under warranty, does anyone know if the new replacement part/headlamps are re-engineered or improved in any way versus the originals? Otherwise this will likely be an ongoing issue.

Default 2015 Macan Turbo

My Macan has suffered the same exact issue and unfortunately I’m out of warranty and the local dealers haven’t been any help. When they get to this point, it’s not a cosmetic issue. The materials used were inferior & Porsche knows it. The PDLS replacements are ridiculously expensive and there’s no way to my know to just replace the lens. If anyone has found a source for replacements or alternatives I’d appreciate it.

You can get the headlights refinished. There is more information on macanforums.
