Default iPhone volume goes to max - help

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere...my 2018 base Macan sets my iPhone ringer volume to maximum every time it is connected via bluetooth. I have to manually lower it but then when I operate the phone again in any way, the volume goes back to maximum. I’ve searched for iPhone related issues but it didn’t do that in my Spyder and doesn’t in other cars. If anyone has any advice, I’d appreciate it.

Did you reduce the volume on your phone?

indeed. The PCM just high jacks the phone’s volume.

Have you cruised through the settings on the MFD to see if there is a controlling setting there? Grasping at straws here.

My F150 used to do this with my iPhone a while back, it was fixed in iOS 13. I know not much help, but just another data point. What IOS are you running?

This is not the OP, but wwahl. I am running IOS 14.3 so maybe that is his problem of an older operating system on his phone?

I have the same issue, I am running the most recent OS and my Macan always turns volume to max. It is painful, have not found any setting to change this. Using ApplePlay seems to avoid it. Would love another solution

I’m oddly comforted that I’m not the only one. And yes, I always update my phone. Not a big fan of Apple Pay but maybe that’s the only way. May ask the dealer although I’m bound to get a blank stare.

Thanks to the OP for raising the question and bonehead for this solution. Tried it yesterday and it indeed solves the problem.
