Can you share the source for the straight hose fitting to the vent valve? Also, interested in parting with a pair of your AL fittings? PM me if you prefer.
Just found them on Amazon. 1/4" 6mm to 5/16" 7.89mm quick release connector to hose barb fitting. PM me for a pair of cnc aluminum fittings with o-rings.
Thanks for sharing guys. I’m experiencing this issue right now on my Macan gts. I’m in SoCal too OC to be exact. Anyway I could acquire a set of your fabrications? I’d gladly come to you asap.
Several years (decades) ago, on an old Volvo "brickboard" forum, members used to suggest proactively replacing/upgrading several engine pvc hoses to silicon lines on their sedans and wagons. A few companies even offered packaged silicon hose kits for DIYers. Besides this coolant line that is a common failure point, are there any other hoses that you feel would be a good idea to proactively replace on an older or high-mileage Macan?

Thanks, they're working great! After digging into the engine bay to perform this repair, I'm now concerned about the various similar plastic hoses and fittings that are likely to fail at the most inconvenient time.
Nice work, we're thinking along the same lines. Not a lot of room down there and the fittings come out quite thin, so I had the fittings machined from 7075 aluminum for additional strength over typical 6061.
The plastic parts are cheap and light, which makes sense why they're used on modern cars. But not good for long term durability, so this "upgrade" should be trouble free for the life of the car.
Last piece of the puzzle was obtaining an OEM type fitting for the bleed valve, to replace the original 90 degree piece since the hose now come from the front.
Just to clarify, even though Radhaus is using my fitting design (which is mainly a copy of the OEM design), and I built/tested a prototype, I decided to give away the design to Radhaus for commercialization. I’m not receiving any royalties, etc… my decision. Just wanted to clarify as is not my intention to promote this product here. I’m just relating my experience (successful so far).
I bought the Radhaus coolant bypass kit and planning to do DIY as a preventative maintenance. I also have a vacuum coolant filler kit. My question is, is it ok if I pressurize the system to refill the coolant that I've lost during the replacement? Thanks
Six months after getting a new waterpump, I have another coolant issue. From the evidence of dried coolant, I have a coolant leak at the radiator area on the Driver Side. Not sure if it's the radiator itself or something nearby.
I think this is unrelated to the topic discussed here, so sorry in advance since the title is just Coolant Leak. I will look for the correct topic. Thanks.
