I'm so glad that they have introduced the new big, central computer screen that's in the 2018 Panamera -- without bringing in the lousy glassy piano-black central console of the 2018 Panamera.
I owned a 2015 Panamera and now own a 2018 Panamera, and I vastly prefer the old center console with matte-black background and real buttons -- and I'm so happy to see that the 2019 Macan has retained this. Looks like they have also retained the old Macan/Cayenne instrument panel -- probably because of space limitations. I do like the new digital screens in the Panamera instrument panel better than the old. But overall, the 2019 Macan looks like a big improvement over the 2018 Macan. Love the additional exterior colors that they are going to be introducing, also.
Now, my dream is for the Macan to be fitted with a 14- to 18-kWh battery pack to become an E-Hybrid with the V6 engine! Maybe 2020 or 2021?
The engine power output and performance is disappointing; even less HP than the pre-facelift base, likely due to the particle filter, and higher weight (still advertised as 100% Porsche DNA). I was really hoping they would put in the market a base car with close to 300HP. In a few months I will extend the lease of my DD Macan GTS until 2021.
From what I could read, they won’t make a hybrid version in the current platform since they cannot fit the electric drive and battery in it; we will have to wait for the gen-2 Macan. Then we will likely have a full-EV Macan.
The Porsche International configurator shows the new 2019 Macan... Evidently they are working on it for more extensive launching soon in individual-country configurators...
why would I get rid of this for a newer more expensive one with a big screen and Jeep Cherokee rear end ?
This one is very special, the only 'black out' is front and rear lights. It was built with aluminum window trim and roof rails, tan leather, chocolate leather dash and NO BLACK WHEELS
The only option it doesn't have is PTV
There will probably be a Cobb tune in its future
It is coated (Opticoat Pro)
today's round two (993 yesterday) of fall detailing
Optimum no rinse wash
Optimum Instant Detailer spray mixed with Optimum Optiseal to dry following a blow dry
P21S gel on the wheels followed by CarPro Hydro2 on the wheels and front intake plastic

Has that been confirmed for other than the base model? The only mention I've seen in print related to reduced power of the face-lifted version was in reference to the base model. I've not seen anything definitive on the S, GTS, and Turbo models?

If they keep any of the other engines for the other trims and they add the particle filter (they have to), there will also be a loss of power. If they change to other engines such as the 2.9L that can be found in the Panny or Cayenne, then there will probably be a small HP gain.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of this new "particle filter". I assume it results in an additional flow restriction in the intake tract, hence the slight reduction in power?

It is a filter placed between the engine and the end of the exhaust system. As it forces exhaust gas to pass through tiny channels it increases back pressure, reducing power. What’s worse, as soot builds up on the filter, backpressure increases and power decreases.
I don’t know how Porsche’s (well, Audi's) gasoline filters will work, but my experience with diesel particle filters on two Audi cars is that they are a pain, especially if one uses the car mainly for short distances.
