I know this is early, but has anyone heard when they’ll start letting us build and order 2026 Macan EVs? I’m holding out for the NACS charging port…and hopefully some different wheels! Really not a fan of the 4S standard wheels/rims.

typically you can start to builld/order/request MY'2026 Porsche vehicle's in calendar Q3 - Porsche shuts down factory in august and after re-open is when they start building the next Model-Year vehicle's (Sept. 1st +/- a few days)
I'll bet you one shiny US Dollar MY'2026 does _NOT_ have native NACS port - I would guess/bet that will come in the MY'2028 Macan on the .2 refresh…but I could be wrong.
MY'2028 is based purely on observed historical behavior from Porsche and how they run their Model-Year evolution - I have _NO_ inside information, just years of watching them and they typically do the .2 refresh 4 year after .1 … but history and future can change - but that's my educated guess.
also NACS vs. J-1772/CCS1 doesn't matter - you'll still need/want adapters…
Good to know! Thanks for the explanation. I had ordered a Macan 4S EV in August and it finally arrived at the dealership at the end of February…when it was supposed to be delivered on December 3rd. So, I was already on the fence about waiting till next year in hopes of the NACS charging port and then when I saw the wheels in person, that really made up my mind to wait. So, I’ll order again in September and hopefully it won’t be delayed as long as this one was. I did love the car though and can’t wait to have one in 2026…with or without NACS!
This will be my new build with the off-road design wheels vs. the standard 4S ones. I also opted for the standard steering wheel and no more gimmicky Porsche light on the ground to save a few pennies since the wheels add quite a chunk of change. Was trying to keep it under $95K.
I completely understand cost constraints. I've owned multiple Porsches without and with upgraded leather interiors, including an ICE Macan (without) and EV 4S (with). The standard leather was my least favorite component of my ICE Macan and not befitting a high end vehicle.
This will be my first Porsche so still learning about things. What makes the upgraded leather interiors better? Any thoughts on the 8-way vs. 14-way vs. 18-way seats? Massage worth it?
I don't have a strong opinion about the different seats. I've only had 14 way seats, which I find comfortable. I think the 18 way seats look better/sportier so I'm ordered them on an incoming Boxster.
Only a small component of standard seats are leather. The remainder, including dash and other areas is synthetic. IMO, the synthetic components look and feel cheap. I also think they look bad when they get worn. I've never had the "intermediate" level leather, so maybe someone else can chime in. The full Porsche leather looks and feels rich and is the first box I checked when speccing my Macan EV.
I recognize that it's easy to "spend" other people's money. I think you'll enjoy your 4S however you configure it.

Full leather replaces a lot of plastic with leather bits - example the dashboard. Cost series by model but it's usually a pretty nice upgrade.
On seats - you probably want to sit in them. I've had cars with 4-way, 14-way, 18-way and buckets. The 18-way are really nice when buckets aren't an option. My least favorite were the 14 ways. The 18-way are a nice compromise of sporty and comfortable. They are very adjustable.
"Any thoughts on the 8-way vs. 14-way vs. 18-way seats?"
If you are tall, or have broad shoulders/hips, the 18 way and 14 way may be less comfortable than the 8 way, 18 way having the tightest fit. Which is fine if you are small/slender. I get hip pointers from the 14 way, which I don't recall getting sitting in dozens of other cars I've owned.
It is an actual requirement? If so can someone please cite the source and actual verbiage. From what I am hearing, of course I could be mistaken, is that they are considering moving that way at some time in the future.
Thank you crozby for the link. Upon reading it I remain skeptical for as it says it is a goal, an “encouragement” statement, nor a requirement:
