Is there a standard, less fancy head-up display or is paying for the optional AR HUD the only way to get head-up display on the Macan EV?

Only one option, the $2k+ one shown in the video.

Not integrated with Apple CarPlay is a pass.

Android Auto is part of Android Automotive. So, same difference. The way, the presenter is loving it seems even better

Given the PCM software is now Android Automotive, I think maybe limited. I’m happy they are continuing to support CarPlay, which is a great decision. I think General Motors is making a huge mistake dropping both to build something in house. Think this will get reversed down the road for sure.

PCM software with Android Automotive seems to be very snappy and a big improvement over previous generations. Have had heads up display in only vehicle, and not a feature I long for.

Seems we are heading towards everyone playing nice together, with good features from Google and Apple. I use services from both companies though iPhone for mobile exclusively.

Time will tell. Happy to see Porsche navigating this well so far.

Yes, android automotive google maps. Whether that has all the capability that you expect for android auto is yet to be determined.
