My Macan is on the Crystal Ray. Currently halfway across the Atlantic.

LOL... Due to the port hold until 9/20... tracking is less fun knowing it will just sit there for several weeks.

My interest in MY24 has started to wane. I allegedly have an order on the way, but if this extends past September, I’m probably going to wait until MY25 or later.

I had this same thought when I was offered an allocation for delivery in September -- too close to MY25 deliveries which my dealer expects will likely start in late October or November (no idea if that is true). I'm hoping for a MY25 allocation in July for late 2024 delivery.

For data point, my allocation date is late July, delivery expected mid October for a MY24.

To those all of you who are smarter than me in the area of Porsche allocation time periods, and as I am getting an early 2026 Macan, what are your thoughts please as to when those first 2026 allocations would be received by dealerships?

Thank you.

WARNING... my very subjective opinion below:

Never understood this mindset... It's a number... Coming off a the production line a few days different. The car will be the exact same. Resale? Guess I don't buy my cars with the intent to sell before I take delivery. It will be my daily and I will manage my expectations accordingly. That is just me... everyone is obligated to their POV. Now if it was a model refresh or new design, or if I was missing out on specific options I value more, that is a different story. Am I missing something besides being able to saying the 2025 is a newer model? I guess I will be enjoying my Macan while others wait for that "5" instead of a "4" on your window sticker ...Haha.

I was told it’s 3 months to get it built and MY changes in October. So in theory around August you should be fine.

Thank you. Good to know. If I am understanding this, would you estimate then starting from what you shared, perhaps then IF all were perfectly executed including a customer get a first round 2026 allocation from a dealer, would it be reasonable for their 2026 to arrive in the U.S. around the end of the 2025 calendar year or early during 2026?

In theory, yes. Now let’s see what they do with these Macans…

It takes four days to build and the rest is tied to shipping and importation; I have an allocation for a Turbo with a build date of July 02 -05 and delivery on 20 September.

« rest is tied to shipping and importation »
It’s more complex than that. In Europe, there is no real delay related to importation, shipping is a matter of hundreds km by truck ; and we all have build date between june/july , delivery date in september/october.
2 to 3 months to do what? Probably something else we don’t know.

You are quite right, why 2-3 months more time if already nearly built!

I was recently told by a Porsche dealership in London that the Demo Macans they were meant to have in June/July will now be coming in September. Customers are unlikely to get them before the dealerships get their Demo Macans. Probably software niggles.

That echoes what a top 50 Porsche worldwide Senior Brand Ambassador who had about two months ago returned from a trip to Porsche headquarters in Germany and had personally seen there the Macan EV, came back and told me that, “our original end of July arrival of demo Macans is now pushed out to no sooner than September 18th.” With that timing statement being two months ago, and our since learning that the port release (at least in the U.S.) will not be at least until September 20th, it is sure appearing that very end of September will be timing for Macan demo customer days at Porsche dealerships.

I do not think it is more complex than that...for Canada anyways, the land of where a very few pay and subsidizes everyone else but we still wait 18 - 24 hours at the Emergency Hospital room, the delay is with Transport Canada providing their stamp of approval and with the Canadian Spec Homologation in the port of Halifax. I don't know what Transport Canada is doing but given the ARRIVE CAN fiasco it is going to be costly and there's nothing I or anyone else can do about it. Voilà !

This is what my SA sent me. Takes a month to ship from Germany to SD but it's stuck in SD for 1.5 months.
