Thanks for the instruction today. My last run was significantly faster as a result. I was on the throttle much earlier, & just booking. Braking later at one, turning in quicker at turn 2, & getting on the throttle harder there gave amazing (to me) results. Turn ten, & the three stooges were all working better too. Great instruction Dave!

Dave was teamed up with The Three Stooges? He would make a good understudy!

So where is the video of the Plow Boy in T-1???

Happy to hear!! You have the fundamentals of being a really good drover, now it is just workinf through nuances that begin to make a bigger & bigger difference. The thing is with 911's is that they absolutely NEED to be on the power all thru the corner in order to steer properly. So, as we discussed, refining your braking cadence & then getting back to power (even a little bit of power) sooner will (a) help your car rotate better with less steering angle, and (b) allow more midcorner velocity that should carry thru corner exit & all down the ensuing straight.

Steve, I am sorry I did not get to ride with you, since i had to leave at lunchtime. If you'd like, we can do it at the LSRPCA event next month!

Music by Alison Krause & Union Station. Still trying to figure out how to get vimeo to do HD resolution for me.

I never caught the instructors name, but it was the fellow who lost a wheel on the M3 lightweight. Not a very talkative guy.

Man, that is one ratty looking track surface.
How come you got so much runoff area? In my neck of the woods, all I see is blue ARMCO; you got nothin' but open plains!

I'm not happy that I was out-driving the tires/track & didn't take into account the cold conditions (it was first run on Saturday), as I think it was more speed than I could handle for that scenario that go me into trouble. At least though I think I did the right thing in driving off. You can see my hands turn to the right just as we go off.

Actually the track surface imho is, while not pretty, fairly smooth & in good shape. The runoff, from the two Texas tracks I've been on, seems to be the norm around here, & is one of the reasons I think people like TWS so much.

I've got little doubt that this was a contributing factor. I was frustrated with the guy droving the yellow roach when he didn't point me buy between 11 & 12. You're right, it is one of the most common offs. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone pass me, only to find them off the track three turns later. You've got to learn from these things.
