It is time for GhettoChicken to start his big back-peddle. To help him along, here are some pre-built excuses:

I meant (fill in blank) when we said that. VR has to do these 5 things to make it right.
VR is going to cheat so there is no point in my going.
VR is hiding behind a screen name so he is not a real person (that is a Francis favorite even though VR has often stated his real name, where he lives and is personally known by quite a few people here.)
My car is not ready.
I have a pro event that weekend. (Which means I have to get my picture taken with a real racer.)
I have to get my hair washed.
I have to get a pedicure that weekend.

or...
My mommy won't let me.

Let's see...

He supposedly has a history of problems with checks.
He signed a contract to cover damages in his first SM race and couldn't pay the damages. He had to give the SM owner a car to make good on a contract that he couldn't honor.
He reneged on the escrow part of the challenge I accepted.

His only basis for being worried about you not paying is if you are as big a deadbeat as he is and we all know that is not the case. He is a putz.

Of course I am. You are just a forum member, I know very little about you. If you are a man you would send $1000 to Larry and let him hold it. That would give me a lot of assurance. Based on his demeanor he appears to be a man of integrity and honor.

Not yet. VR is playing silly games. He KNOWS he can't cover 5 sec. so he's trying to wiesel his way out of it on stupid technicality and games. He better send $1000 to Larry to hold to show me that he is serious. I'm all ready to go.

Hey dumb ****, VR issued the TWS challenge. I accepted it. ENGLISH mother ****ing animal. I guess you can't read. VR is the dumb cocky *** that offer to spot me 5 seconds. I didn't ask for it.
