It's a writing that has five syllables in the first line, seven in the second line, and five in the third line. It doesn't have to actually ryhme, but is considered poetry as far as I recall. Go back and look at the other haikus and sound out the syllables and you'll get the idea.

IIRC, katie had some particularly good ones.

We did have poems for Juan, but that was the appropriately lower form of poetry, the limerick.

Here we choose the subtle, beautiful Japanese Haiku.

No poems for Mexico here.....although when i used to play golf, I often experienced many Mexican putts. You know, the ones that need just one more revolution.....
