And now Frank has found a cheap way to advertise. Just post on other succesful organizations web boards. Tracquest DE Board

I've been reading this thread, since the beginning. I've never felt the need to post, as I would have just echoed others' comments and I felt that would be "piling on", albeit desrved.
However, after reading the info linked in the post above, I am motivated throw a comment in. Personally, I would never consider a track event without corner worked. I consider myself "experienced", with 37 DE days in the past 4 years, although I know I'm not an expert. Would any of the experts here participate in such an event?

Just to throw more gasoline on the fire, Frank recently posted this to his site:

I replied that if the driver is aware of his surroundings - look ahead and around; he should have enough time to react to just about any situation in a regular DE day.
There was standing yellow at T5, followed by a waving yellow at T7 during a session. I looked a head and see another waving yellow on T9, and I also see a black E46 M3 parked backwards just behind (off the track) the exit berm of T9. It looks like a spin out from what I can see. From the moment I saw standing yellow on T5, I dropped the pace down from near 10/10th down to 7.5/10th or so.
Once I've identified the spin out car and its location, I decided to cruised through T9 at about 7.5/10th. Just as I get close to the inside (left) berm of T9, suddenly the rear end steps out ultra quick. The car got 45 degrees sideways in a split second. But my instincts takes over and with out thinking I counter steer and get on the gas. It was a clean save, no over correction. I think after the T9 corner worker saw what happened to me he immediately put up a debris flag (and I assume he radio the T5 and T7 workers too. It turns out the engine threw a rod and dumps a bunch of oil all over T9. Now I can say I've ran over oil with out knowing. It wasn't all that dramatic. I think most of the experienced trackers can recover with out too much drama just like I did if it happens to them.

First of all, anyone who has driven across oil or coolant while on the track, knows that at that point you are a passenger. Making it through unscathed requires alot of good luck.
GR must be a phenominal driver since even F1 drivers lose control of their cars when they hit oil that has been dumped on the track by another car. Look what happened to David Coulthard at the Nurburgring last weekend when he hit the oil laid down by one of the Toyotas just as he had to take evasive action to avoid Alonso's Renault after Alonso slowed when he saw the debris flag.
Maybe Ron Dennis should sign him up.

For those really into self abuse, take a look at the hand-held, in-car videos (complete with loose license plate on the dash) he has posted on his web site... the "drifting" ones are my favorite... what a tool.

He's a racecar driver, tried and true
GR thinks he's the man
And so should you.
(The above statment was made completely in jest)

So let me make sure I understand this. GR's car hits oil with the rear wheels but the front wheels did not? So plenty of steering grip and maybe front wheel drive? bull****

I mean, GR does have his DE Superlicense afterall.

I crossed someone's oil-drip line once going into turn 9 at TWS, where there's a wall waiting at track-out about 8 feet off the asphalt. Lost all four tires & experienced large slip angles sliding out towards the wall. Not much I could do but try & keep it pointing in the right direction (down the hill). The tires must have scrubbed off enough oil to regain traction, and I only put two wheels off before hooking up.
I just count my blessings, I don't think I did anything superhuman.
