Barber - 1:38.21 - 16 Jun 2018 - Pirelli slicks - Mono-ball Suspension
My first time back to Barber in over two years. Until now, I’ve only driven it as a student of the Porsche Sport Driving School in street cars. It was great to have my Tini here and to be able to run unfettered. The second session of day one proved to be my zenith today, peaking at 1:38.21. This was on very worn tires and way too much fuel in the tank. Just piping you, GeoJoe!

Perhaps this won’t qualify, and that’s fair, but I had a 1:37.7 in hand until the penultimate corner. I got balked on my flier by a slower car. The MoTeC data shown above tells the tale. The top graph is the variance line. This is comparing my personal best lap of 1:38.21 to the lap shown in the video of 1:39.16. As you can see, comparing time over distance, I was up by half a second going into that corner until getting balked. Unfortunately, a lightening storm shut down the track and the rain storm that ensued insured we were done for the event.

I went to Watkins Glen with PCA Potomac this past weekend. My first time at the Glen. My best time was a 2:09.02, which seems to be pretty good for being on RE71R tires. Here's a screenshot of lap times from HLT. I can post video if desired, but it turns out the optical image stabilization on my iPhone X sucks for video recording in the car, so it's annoyingly shaky.

I did find a trick on the internet about using a little neodymium magnet to "lock" the image stabilization on the iPhone. I'll give it a try at my next DE.

I love the Glenn. Got to cross it off my bucket list last fall, can't wait to go back. I got the chance to get a pro passenger on the second day. There are some nice tricks to shave a couple seconds off there (mostly mind tricks).

Was this ^^ with the GT3 muffler and TPC pipes? You said the full GT3/TPC "gives a fantastic boost in mid-range and high RPM power", but I can't find any dyno data for that combo...do you have some?

I am considering bolt on's for intake and exhaust...... or just keeping stock, as I have now, and just further adjusting alignment, rear suspension, and (most importantly) tires...RE-71r's IMO are better than Cup 2's but obviously not the level of R7's or even used DH's
