BRZ collector car. sure, collected in land fill.
i bought one drove from dealer to fwy on ramp, off ramp, sold it back to dealer. total time of ownship, 45 min. one of the most expensive car i owned due to dep'n

GT4 wont be collector car
it's a fun car
the 100k 2 seater mkt is not small. depends on where u are at. LA, SF, WA... you see nannies driving 100k cars around.

lots of pundit on this car
if you want the car. hurry up and get one. allocation are out now. so get on it.
b/c in 2 months allocation will be gone, and you WILL BE stuck paying over msrp

i find this very amusing
when no allocation, everyone bitch and moans
when there is allocation, ppl talk all day and not buying them up....

the only questions should be.
do i want the car
can i afford the car
if above are "yes" then start pounding doors and do what it take to get one. sometimes it's over msrp sometimes it's not.

there are do'ers
there are talkers
i see a lot of talkers

and yes, 12 months later, they will be cheaper
but someone would have enjoyed 12 fun months, like orthojoe, while others drool for 12 months.

as a young child, i have stood outside haagen daz near local movie theater drooling with my tongue on the window.... so now i dont wait.

I tried to get the dealer to let me place the allocation with a RL member, but they wanted to honor their list.....good for them, glad to see there is some degree of morality remaining in the craze!
I had actually posted about this a couple of weeks ago..
Only reason i found out was because my allocation slipped out my dealers back door (go figure)... This led me to dig around and I was told by some P Canada Corp types that the build dates were pushed farther out to the end of July and that another round (only for those with an exisiting v070 order request) would become available... Only reason why I've already turned down 3 gt4's from various dealers,

Ok, I have to ask: Why did you not run that test in the BRZ on a test drive before buying it and immediately returning it? I enjoyed the 80 miles I got in a BRZ out on Texas Hill Country roads. Yeah it had very little power, but it wasn't awful if you kept the revs up, and for me the revelation of what a car that weighs 1000 lbs less than the M3 I had feels like in the corners was so fun that I didn't care that I couldn't power out of them particularly forcefully.

Agreed on a surprising number of 100K cars on the road in the areas you mentioned, but although those markets are large relative to other cities of similar sizes, they still only represent a small portion of the total market even for Porsches, never mind for the broader VW Group or the car market in general -- so I would say the market for $100K 2-seater cars is still small in that sense.

i cannot find a BRZ to test drive, and i have very little patience and no time. time is very $$$$$$$$$ for me. at the time, no CA dealer will let you even sit in BRZ.

100k mkt over all is small compared to accord and civic yes. but it's not that small. some of the premium paid here makes me gag... but clearly someone paid for them....

The reality is its a special car. I've had 3 981s a 14CS PASM/15CS X73 and the GT4. The 4 is a great car but not as good as gods of a DD as the other two.

So unless you track it what's the sence ? unless you just like owning it and not useing it for its intended purpose and that's OK. My gut is more will show up on the market as the novelty and hype wares off. Carl
