it's raining GT4s

Oh, yeah: you're totally screwed! The Porsche dealer at Walnut Creek had a few $10k above MSRP allocations a few weeks ago. I ended up paying a bit over that for a car that had already been ordered and was on its way to the dealer. It was a bit over-optioned (PCCBs, for example) but I'm still glad I got it.

A friend in Vegas received a call about that allocation earlier today and asked me if I was interested. The minute the dealer found out I was in CA the price went up $10k above what they'd sell it for locally. It's frustrating for someone living in CA who really wants to buy this car. Bad in-state dealers want $20k-$30k over and good in-state dealers just don't have enough allocations to satisfy their waiting lists. Out-of-state dealers don't want to sell to you, and if they do, the minute they find out you're in CA the price gets ratcheted up.

Yup. I'm a Gaudin customer and when they got 4 more allocations about a month ago 3 went out of state at premium and I got mine (I had passed earlier in the year) at MSRP. Wonder if they got one more or someone backed out. Mike Andersen also my Porsche exec and he's a great guy. The up charge from what I understand is a new (could be wrong) and as stated above directed right at CA. As an escaped Californian I understand the enthusiasts dilemma there...your dealers by in large are awful. Maybe the legislature will ban all cars but hybrids soon or just all VAG cars. They ban or tax everything else.

The used market is definately sift if you can find one close to your specs. A few aren't even selling now at MSRP.
I love the example after example of the guys that are getting there second and third allocation. They get one, flip it, then they get another one. Oh but this one is exactly like they want it because the first one wasn't. That is crazy to me and think that is just one issue hurting the P brand currently.
