Might be a bit of a challenge for warranty work. That's ok as long as it's factored in on the purchase.

Nice car.

I would assume the power train warranty on this car is no longer in effect based on the modifications listed and with the potential of 3rd gear failure I personally wouldn’t buy a GT4 unless it had the remainder of the factory warranty.

These are the mods that I believe would void any warranty from Porsche:

- IDP Competition Plenum
- SWGT4 Lightweight Flywheel & Sports Clutch Kit
- 3-5 Gear Short Ratio Re-Gearing
- EVO MSit Tuning

*look at the 3rd gear failure database and other associated threads related to 3rd gear failures.

It is a nicely optioned car and original MSRP was over $105K.

If those are mods OP is interested in it could be a good deal. The 3.8 has proven reliable and the shorter aftermarket 3rd gear should make losing 3rd a non issue. Yes, they may deny warranty on some parts of the drivetrain but if anything the only real known issue is 3rd gear which is fixed in this case.

Saw this on Auto Trader if any one is looking for a GT4 under $80K.

I'm in the market for a GT3/4 and I recall there was an issue with this car (besides the accident he wrote in the description). I'm pretty sure I ran the autocheck and it has a branded title. I can't look it up now but proceed with caution. The deal is too good to be true - but if the title is clean then it's fine even with the accident on it. Although it's pretty stripped down and not my favorite color so I passed on it.

Thanks for sharing! Good reminder to always do your homework.

This type type of thing is one reason why I don’t post links to fs cars...
