Suntek PPF Regrets

My installer does both but prefers SunTek and says SunTek looks better on dark cars.

if one really wants thick and dont care how it looks, 3M pro is really thick.
film is not to protect, but merely reduce the total damage.

Some installers would rather go with Suntek over XPEL... because 3M lawsuit

Yes like a broken record ... 3m pro is the best protection out there and when compared with other thicker films ( looks the best period)
Suntek looks the best out the door but only in the first year ... Then all bets are off ....
I have said this many times... and I would not want to be involved it the above issues when that goes down 🙄
Good luck whatever you decide

My 987 with ~10 track days and 60k miles had less film and paint damage with whatever film Premier was installing in 2007 than my Suntek protected GT4 does with just 3.5k street miles. YMMV

This is absolutely true. My GT4 is the 3rd car I've had done with Suntek and never had any issues. Get yourself someone who knows what they're doing. It's all in the way the film is applied.

I had the opportunity to see side by side xpel and clearguard nano.
There was noticeable orange peel on the xpel. Not on the clearguard. That issue as well as clearguard being thicker than xpel sold me. Now I ran this at Cal Speedway and had black marks that simply melted off with a quick detailer and no rubbing. It is also self healing. Car is still perfect in front.
Also I used for the first time Xpels TRAcwrap.
I am surprised there arent more guys using this. Yeah , it takes a few minutes to install and it will bunch up a bit around curves of the car but it pulled right off and was incredible. Was very easy to apply , and can be applied over the PPF without issue.

I had Suntek on GT4 #1, wasn't terribly thrilled but in principle of full disclosure more from an install perspective rather than the film itself. What is horse**** however is the claim that it is 'self healing'.
Going commando on GT4 #2 and no regrets.
PS: took delivery of a new car this weekend and ended up doing 3M on her

NONE of these films are self healing. Well maybe if they get tapped by a falling maple leaf....

They are both good. If you car got beat up than the film did it's job and probably minimized the damage. Xpel will perform equally. Now- I prefer Xpel but only because my installer uses it and he prefers to install it.
Xpel slightly thicker but should not make that big of a difference. Probably the reason Suntek has a lower haze due to it being slightly thinner

I dont know about the others but Clearguard DOES self heal , as I saw it for myself after scratching.
