Seriously. If the dealer spec'd it, shame on them. If the dealer let the customer spec it without educating them on the option, shame on them.

Gives you a slot for a SIM card, which makes no sense since Bluetooth is standard. I guess it only makes sense if you have an old phone with no Bluetooth

Someone who doesn't realize that Bluetooth is standard without selecting that. The configurator description admittedly doesn't make that very clear since it includes a description of the standard HFP mode that's available even without this module, which actually caused some forum members to order it. Some even got the handset!

Well it's more than just having a phone that doesn't support Bluetooth (and/or whose antenna isn't good enough compared to the antenna that's built into the car) -- you also need a carrier that will give you two SIMs tied to the same phone number, which is none of the US-based carriers. In that case, your only options are to get an entirely separate line just for your car or swapping your SIM between your phone and car constantly.

Wow, the leather/Alcantara extended door panel option too. Another one that has duped a lot of people into parting with $690 because it sounds great and they didn't see just how little it actually buys you and that none of it is even visible with the door closed except part of the airbag cover, but that leather is indistinguishable from the standard plastic anyway. Sigh.
