Default 718 GT4 confirmed?

Got that from a GM this morning. NA too. Maybe that's why three of the four GT4s on fleabay this morning had LWBS, and decient prices.

Take it to the bank. We've never had a case of SAs, GMs, techs, or cleaning ladies turning out to be wrong before.

An NA 718 GT4 is very likely going to happen, but until Porsche puts out the press release, nothing is official and everything can change.

Given that the GT division has to release the 991.2 GT3 and 991.2 GT2 RS first, it'll be a while before their focus shifts to the 718 GT4.

Interesting that the expectation seems to be that the GT2 RS would be released without a GT2. I agree the spy shots certainly make it look like an RS car being tested, but I believe an RS car without a corresponding non-RS car would be unprecedented, no? Maybe Porsche decided that the market just wasn't large enough to support a GT2 between the Turbo and GT2 RS anymore?

Got up and close with a couple 718 Boxsters today and really not liking the rear end. Tail lights are also fugly. - and I am not kidding. Do not like it at all.

^ That was my impression from the photos, but I didn't want to say anything until I'd seen one in person since I've had several occasions where cars looked better to me in real life than in the photos. It'll be interesting to see how this one goes.

On an only slightly related note, the new Panamera's rear end looks surprisingly good in the photos, although granted the outgoing model didn't set the bar all that high.

Fwiw, there was only ever a 997.1 GT2 and only ever a 997.2 GT2 RS. Given that the 911R was the 991.1's swan song, it's not unreasonable to expect that the GT2 that comes out as part of the 991.2 body style will be an RS.

And just so we're clear, this is just me speculating.

A$$es vary. What pleases one may not please another. "Phat" butts are different based on cultural norms.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with preferences expressed. Just providing a counter point; stirring the pot.

718 NA GT4 seems likely. My question is, what do they do to improve it? PDK, anything else? Engine could be tuned properly but not much room there.

Speculation of course. I wouldn't expect much of a power increase, 405 may be generous.
