Default custom wheels help

I am going to ordering a set of custom wheel for the gt4, but i have a couple of questions. This setup will be for looks only as there is no track near where i live.

1) If i order the following spec do i need to change anything? i.e. bushing , toe links.

Front: 20 x 8.5 offset 51
Rear: 20 x 11 offset 50

2) Should i reuse the cup 2 tires from the oem rims or i should buy a new set? If i should get a new set which would you recommend?

3) Do i put the new wheels on as soon as i get the car or i need to wait until after the first alignments ? if i have to wait then do i need to do another alignment after?

Thank you all in advance. Any help is appreciated.

New vs used tires doesn't matter, and with that size your only real options are Cup 2s and Dunlops anyway until the RE-71Rs arrive. Alignment timing doesn't matter either, especially if you're keeping the same wheel diameter, which means there won't be any additional camber from lowering with 19" wheels. There's absolutely no need to get an alignment just because you changed wheels, nor a requirement to get one before doing so (otherwise people who swap between street and track wheels would have quite an ordeal), and even if your car isn't aligned properly out of the box, it won't mess up your wheels anyway, just your handling and tire wear. Can't answer the fitment question, but from what I remember those offsets are very close to stock, so chances are you should be fine. Can't imagine needing toe links specifically with a 20x11 rear.

The OP didn't mention how many miles are on the car and driving habits. If the car has accumulated some miles along with the fact that the factory alignment isn't always spot on I'd get an alignment. I just checked mine and it is out.

Based on no track a set of MPSS might be an option.

if U are staying with 20" and they are custom, I should duplicate oem spec and offset

1) For street driving those offsets will work fine on 20's. It will bring the front wheels out a bit to look more flush and better than oem. I think you have about the max front offset that you can go with. If you ever decide to track the car at 51 offset you have a slight change of rubbing at high compression tracks. A safe offset that still looks nice is 55 and allows you a safe option to track as well. No track? 51 is good.

2) Doesn't matter, I like having two sets that I can rotate/swap out.

3)Wheels are independent of alignment - doesn't matter. Put 'em on once you have them. But align your car as soon as you can as many folks have reported a delivered alignment that have been materially off. Car handles much better with good alignment.

You need to move. Nearby to a race track.

This. OP, how far is the nearest track? It'll be worth the drive, believe me.

i live on an island so the closest track would probably be around 2500 miles away. but will definitely going to try to go to the PEC in LA when it opens up

The stock rear wheel already sticks out a tad from the fender, so I definitely wouldn't go for a more aggressive (lower) offset. The front is already basically flush too.

You might want to consider a set of ForgeLine GA1R. I Had them on my GTS and will most likely put a set on the GT4.
