Any new consensus or info on 19" tires to run at the track to replace the RE71R's?

I am running Forgeline wheels sized 19x9, 19x11 (have been using the RE71R (265/35R19, 285/35R19)
Reading through the posts in this GT4 track setup Wiki over the past number of months I have compiled this list of replies and questions from numerous people posting:

-For just DE I'll run Supercar 3. For autocross I'll run Falken 660. For Time trials I've haven't decided yet.
-Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3. About the same grip, way more life. May not get the best times, but close and you’ll save $.
-I'm running BFG R1s this season
-Just had the SC2's installed (N1 compound and heat cycled by TireRack)
-I went with N1 Cup2 tires, after running a full season on RE71 last year, I can say these are about a half second quicker. Jury is out on wear rate. I'd like to do a back-to-back with Goodyear SC3, but it seems the SC3 is a hair slower than RE71.
-With my B RE71Rs gone, like many others, I'm looking for good options.
-What are you hearing about the new continental hoosier 200tw?
-The calculated best sizes are not available for our cars, but it's close.
-The fronts are fine with 265/35/19; however, the rears are a little off with 295/30/19.
-With the RE71s discontinued I'm now running Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars on my stock rims. Loving them two track days into the experience. They are also available in an "R" compound which I didn't purchase.
-I've been running Goodyear Supercar 3s and they are very close to the RE71R. They are a good tire. I have a set of Falken RT660 that I'll be trying in September. Hoping I can take two sets of wheels and run the Goodyears and
Falkens back to back.

Well I took two sets of wheels to the track, a set of RT660 and a set of RE71R. Unfortunately it was raining, and I blew sound, so only put in a total of 3 laps all weekend. All on the RE71R

Heading to Road Atlanta with a new set of 19” SC3R this weekend (265/305). Went with the R version in the hope of not getting run over…. I hope they make it through the weekend. Second outing in the car, first time with a proper setup and fresh rubber. Thinking about a set of 20” SC3 to use for street tires, but might just go with something cheap, since they likely won’t last long with 3.2 camber.

What size tires are you running and on what wheels (and wheel size)?
I am trying to see what tires I can run without needing spacers on my Forgeline 19x9 & 19x11.

Running Falken RT660 in 265/305. Wheels are Forgelines 9x19 and 11x19. I do run a 5 mm spacer on the rear to clear the toe link, and camber plates on the front to help with caster. I have the tpc toe links, and I think someone else sells one that clears the wheel without spacers, but can't remember who's.

Awesome I'll be there with Chin this weekend also. I've run the SC3R on a ZL1 1LE at Road Atlanta and they were fantastic. Made it through the weekend while co driving, so saw a lot of abuse. I'll be running Falken RT660 in 265/305 so should be an interesting comparison. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Follow up on the Good Year SC3 tires (not the 3R).
Just finished 1.67 days and they are very good; as most have said, about a second slower than the Bridgestone RE71Rs.
Also as others have said, the wear rate is surprisingly good. Without consideration for anything other than tread wear, these should last at least a day or two longer than the RE71Rs.
Please share a report on the Falkens.
Thank you.

Ran the Falken RT660 at Road Atlanta last weekend. I was told prior that they like a lot of pressure, so I started around 35 hot and ran them all the way up to 40. Tires never got greasy and seemed to wear well. I would say maybe slightly better wear then the RE71R, and definitely faster then the RE71R's. I ran the entire Chin Happy Hour and actually set my fastest lap on the very last lap. Tire stayed consistent over the entire hour. I was very impressed, and it is now my new go to tire.

Ran COTA for the first time in my recently acquired 981 GT4. Used Supercar3 in 265/35r19 and 285/35r19 on Forgelines.

To give some background I’m coming from an M4 CS that I was able to do a 2:30.9 with Nankang AR-1 in 265/35r19 and 305/30r19.

With the GT4 and SC3 my best lap was 2:30.2. I’m beyond happy with the result and really look forward to trying stickier tires.

Previous owner had installed Monoball ends and thrust arm bushings. I added camber plate and aligned for -3 in front and -2.5 in rear. Handled super neutral.

Thats really interesting. When I drove the RT660 and got up to 35-36 psi I started sliding quite a bit more and my lap times fell off a bit. Have you tried running 31-32 hot?

I've run 30 psi at an autox and the tire was rolling over too much. Haven't tried it on track. Also, not sure what temperatures you were running at but Road Atlanta was fairly cool with temperatures starting out in the high fifties. If I remember right, highs for the day was high sixties to low seventies. I would think on a hot day the tires might get greasy at those pressures, but at least I've got a good starting point going into the spring.

IIRC it was mid 60’s both days then low 70’s in the afternoon. I agree that below 30 psi is a bit low but they warm up fairly quickly (out lap + 1 or 2 laps).

Took my GT4 to Roebling Road today. Had TC/ESC issues all day. First two laps of a session I had heavy intervention so I turned everything off. Went back out and it went into limp mode after the first turn. Came in, turned everything back on and it was fine. After that In later sessions I had intervention for two laps, and it was fine after that. Possibly related to slightly smaller rear tire diameter? 265/35-19 front, 305/30-19 rear SC3R.

Also, does TPMS go stupid if pressures drop below 26? Worked fine all day until I parked it for a while late in the day.

Such a learning curve with this car….

Yeah TPMS will go nutz if you're way high or way low from what it was stored on. As long as you are manually checking it with a decent gauge, you can disregard the lights on the dash.

What's "heavy intervention?" That is such an old school, flat as a pancake track. What tires?

If you have sport chrono, try running the Porsche Track Precision App. Within the app and if you download the data, you can see when the nannies kick in. My experience is when ESC/TC kicks in it is not detectible. You can guess where it should/could be kicking in, but I can't say I ever notice it driving. With that said, I have not driven with it off either.

I can't imagine TPMS pressures causing limp mode. Never heard of that before. I wonder if your battery is low. Have heard several reports of strangeness when voltage drops but it's still strong enough to crank. Have you tried reading codes? Surely there is something recorded if you went into limp.
